My understanding from the GC II forums is that you will be able to zoom in and out directly on the main screen. So the screenshot may be a zoomed in view. The size of sectors hasn't been determined yet from what CariElf said over there. So it's all work in progress and subject to change at this point.

It's not you it's MOO3. Drop it in the trash and never look back. GC is the Way. ;)
hing returns could be applied somehow.
There are 72 tiles for that planet. I thought the max was going to be somehting like 36?
Good stuff. Frogboy, please make it so.
t bother me. When I finish my current game I'll post it, but I don't play just to move up in the standings.
Didn't know you could do it with F9. Thanks. Time to RTFM I guess.
That's not a bad thing, just my impressions of how it would work in practice.
Another reason to keep at least an old ship at each system is that it prevents the AI from invading with transports alone which have no combat value to attack your ship first.
Read the Unofficial Strategy Guide at the Orion Sector.
ing on what button you select over on the right hand display. Right now the tactical display doesn't show much but it could be expaned to cover a lot of things you mentioned like influence, scan ranges, waypoints, etc.
Isn't there something like this in GC I and AP now? From the planets screen there is a tactical screen that might be enhanced to give you what you're looking for.
I'll draw a line in the stardust there.
I wouldn't want to see stargates replace mini freighters. Having to protect trade routes and being able to interrupt enemy trade routes should still be part of the strategy of the game.

When I read that quickly I thought it said "Frog Busting". ' '
I emailed Strategy First asking them who was going to carry the new versions retail and when it would be available. They didn't even have the courtesy to reply. Buy direct from Stardock.
've tried highlighting text and clicking "Q" but all I get is an "Error on page" message in the lower left corner of my browser. Thanks.
rvettes coming at me but few if any capital ships. IIRC this was a problem in straight GC I as well. Not sure why the AI "panics" and starts building these junk ships but it's a fatal decision IMO.
In my current game of AP I've noticed the AI sometimes protects it's systems with just colony ships. Pretty useless except to absorb some damage. Hopefully that will get fixed in GC II.
Playing Civ 3 Complete right now and yes that is a nice touch. Chrome for sure, but it would be even better in GC II given the limitless variety of landscapes that are possible.
AP latest version hung once this mornign where all I could do was power off the computer. Later it crashed to the desktop. Dounbt I can reproduce either problem but it's frustrating to see this after the game has been out so long and patched so often.
