This is how my greyhound sleeps... it is known as 'roaching'.

Looking back at Baldur's Gate, the Reputation mechanic could be a sufficient starting point for the Bounty Hunter system. Not only does it affect the number of hunters after you but could impact the availability of resources, purchasing, and side quests depending on your current status. Would not impact core plot elements.
We recently adopted a Greyhound as a friend to our other ageing canine friend. One of the most gentle (and lazy!) dogs I've ever had and both our young children absolutely adore her. If you ever get a chance to rescue one a Greyhound, whether its an ex-racer or one that doesn't cut the grade, jump at the chance!

I think we've discussed similar in a few other threads. I'm okay with the idea as the intent is to reduce the grind. Haven't seen how scarce or plentiful resources are yet, I would suggest this is a mid-game option.

A random discussion started in Discord on what would be fun holiday themed ships and weapons. Share what you think could be fun! Drenkend - Snowballs instead of de-energiser bolt Menkmack - Colourful Presents instead of cannisters, still go boom. Trandal - Razor sharp tinsel bola Pinthi - Super heated eggnog. Wears a santa hat. Scryve - Candy cane striped laser
Gore (secondary) - High speed straight line charge of ship with short plasma lance at front. Stops on first object hit, does massive damage. Hit object is knocked away at high speed (if not destroyed). Harpoon (secondary) - Fires tether shot that attaches to opponent. Stays attached while fuel lasts, or disengaged. Can be shot off by opponent. Taser - Fires electrical shock charge down harpoon line. Life Leach - Drain crew down harpoon line, replenish own. &nb
Rage - temporary boost to all movement and firing stats. Followed by cool down period with temporary penalty to movement stats.
Super Size Me - enlarges self while fuel lasts (toggle ability). Boost to damage output with small reduction in speed and turning rate. Super Size You - Target gets enlarged for a short period of time. Boost to damage output with small reduction in speed and turning rate. Temporal IMpedance Event (T.I.M.E.) Generator - essentially Bullet Time. Operates as secondary toggle, works while fuel lasts. Slows down time within arena meaning all objects move and turn slower, except for
It's not as much as you think it is.
As a dev (not games), yes it is a lot of work. Trying to shoehorn it in late in the framework dev, adds potentially significant expense depending on design decisions made Having it attached to selective entities adds work Adding the statement that the rules can be 'anything at all' - that adds WAY more, especially when considering the complexity o
Time Stasis Bubble - target hit is locked in the bubble for N seconds. Cannot be harmed while in the bubble, no regen of fuel or crew.
^^^^ Agreed. Also noticed that some threads appear to not show latest posts for me - stats show recently updated but upon entering the thread there are no new entries (no pages either).

My 64-bit browser can't display these posts, I get a HTTP 499 ERROR_TLDR code. Many trees died in Brad printing out this thread...
Honestly, point and click will remove the fun from combat. Have you tried using a controller? Quite a few players report it is far more enjoyable and easier to control.
Just checking where you've got up to: Used Steam Key to register Star Control Beta in Steam Steam downloaded game files Started game, presented with Launch splash screen Click play, game starts At which point does it fail? Are you presented with an error?

You can update the controller mapping under settings. Not a perfect fix to what you are asking, but might be enough of a workaround.
That has already been discussed at length in both the forums and Discord. I believe the decision is that Ranked gameplay will use Stardock approved ships - either stock ships or others specifically vetted by Stardock. Use of non-stock ships in unranked or custom gameplay may be configuration settings available to the player setting a match.
Honestly, I don't think the gravity whip of old plays a big role in the arena style of SCO. The whips worked well because the arena wasn't bounded as it is now. And I like that only some ships even have an effective chance at using the planet to create a gentle whip. Scryve is one of my favourites and with the latest update I know I need to stay away from centre and that's fine because my opponents can use that as an advantage to beat my giant LAZOOOOR.

Planet size is fine - to me it means you need to work on piloting skills to take advantage of gravity maneuvers. I'm happy with not being able to complete a gravity whip to gain significant momentum as it provides a different game play. Its now about gaining a blindside advantage over your opponent. Quite effective with the Defender and Cruiser.
