That art style is a poor choice.
I should clarify: I don't have a problem with the art style. I don't love love it, but it's fine. I just did the various photoshops because people were asking for them and I'm a bit bored at work right now. Although if I'm being honest I do like the dark grey uniform look over the cheerful blue original, but the original is fine too. The only thing I actually do d

Here she is with a short neck. I may have made it slightly too short :-) (although it does highlight just how long and giraffe-like her neck is in the original)
I think the commander looks better with the black uniform.
The dark uniform isn't anything official, just something I knocked up in Photoshop. On discord there's also one where I gave her the black pants and yellow/gold top of James T. Kirk :-). I was just playing, really (although I tend to agree that IMO the dark grey/black looks better than the cheery blue uniform of the original).
Do you know the odds of successfully navigating an asteroid field?
Well, it depends if you're in Star Wars universe or the real one, because in the real universe "asteroid fields" are extremely sparse. In the one in our solar system, the average distance between any two asteroids is 2 million miles (about 8 times the distance from the Earth to the Moon). Seems like the SC:O universe is going to be
Well, as for not getting to play the beta, you were never given a timeline when you signed up. Patience is a virtue. Besides, that time is now - you will be getting a key in 2 days time on the 19th. As for your first point, Stardock has never made any secret of the fact that this is not a direct sequel to SC1/SC2. It's a different universe in a related multiverse. That's been part of the mantra all along, and if you missed that, well, that's on you. It couldn't have bee
And if I can get all Monty Python for a sec, my first modem 300baud. 1200 would have been luxury to us... ;-)
You'll be fine. A lot of netcode still used in games was designed back when people still had those 14.4k modems! Some more modern games will be expecting more, but 2 up and 10 down is absolutely fine - anyone who designed a game that sent so much data that that wasn't enough would a) be a bad coder and b) be preventing a massive chunk of the potential customer base from playing the game...
Oh please, that's still faster than a lot of the planet has to contend with, and they do fine. 10mbps isn't ADSL/fibre speeds but it's still pretty reasonable.

There was clearly a lot of Starflight and SF2 love that went into the development of Star Control.
Paul and Fred have stated they intend to return to the Ur-Quan timeline and do a proper sc2 sequel someday even if it is a side thing they do.
Prophetic words there, Brad. How long did you know about their announcement yesterday beforehand? And if it's not too personal, how do you/Stardock feel about it? I mean, I'm sure that like the rest of us you're excited about a true SC2 sequel, but it does kind of take
Another thing I would like to see is enemy fleets made of different ship types, in SC2 the alien civs were rather isolated and you only met fleets with ships from the the same alien species. The Scryve are described as having an empire with multiple client species.
Brad mentioned that there will be different versions of each ship in the adventure game. So unlike SC2, you might meet the Scryve and instead of just bein

A very small group of founders have the alpha in order to do very initial testing (like, there are about 15 of us). If you want to have a chanc

I agree the captains log should show the pins you have dropped, and there should be a way to annotate the log with special locations. So I could write in the log "found an awesome planet with a bunch of resources, go back and get them later" and click on the planet in the starmap and it would put the coordinates in the log for me. Then later when I read that entry, I can click on the coordinates and a pin would drop onto the starmap to remind me of where the planet was.
PSS- There's too many guys with four arms. Tywom, MenkMack, Phamysht, Trandals, Measured and Xraki. Too many.
Meh, not really. Almost every species on earth shares the same basic genetics of having 4 limbs. In some they're all legs and in some they're two arms and two legs. You can go smaller and get 6-limbed insects and 8-limbed arachnids, but almost everything else has 4. So I don;t have an issue with a bunch of alien races being 6 limbed s
It does look awesome, but there's one thing that has seemed slightly off to me. It's taken a while for me to click what it was. Every ship has a really brightly colored trail. I actually find this somewhat distracting, is there any chance we could try it without the colorful trails to see how it looks by comparison?
