Yankee This self-referential American term is of uncertain origin. There are two leading hypotheses with several other less-likely contenders. The OED2's earliest usage cites are from the 1680s. They refer to a pirate (at least it is probably to one individual) named Yankee Duch (1683), Captain Yankey (1684), and Captain John Williams (Yankee) (1687). The next earliest reference is an estate inventory from 1725 listing a slave named Yankee. The earliest recorded usage of the t

The only problem I see is that changing your WB skin will change your toolbar icons. If I really like a particular set, I might want to use it with different skins. If it were part of a particular WB skin then I'd have to modify the skin to incorporate it into the altered skin - and then if my taste changes later on.... again with the mods. Now if it is a separate program, then the icons are persistant regardless of what skin or *cough* .msstyle I'm running. The other thing to consider
It's actually a green monkey.
Didn't seem to work for me (first try). I'll keep farting around with it.
Hmmm gotta try that - Thanks Randy!
Shellstyle.dll is what controls the 'common tasks' panel in XP folder views. Right now Windowblinds doesn't touch this. So it loads the luna shellstyle located in C:\WINNT\Resources\Themes\Luna\Shell\NormalColor\. This can be replaced (but not easily) with a modified shellstyle.dll. .dll files can be modified using a utility such as Resource Hacker. Such edits are not to be taken lightly however. If you wish to undertake them be sure to back-up your original files should it not go as p
Do a bit of 'googling' for logo design and get a feel for pricing. When a client approaches you for a new logo, it's a good bet that they're also going to be in the market for: new business cards, stationary, adverts, signage, yellow pages ad, etc... Try to sell 'em a package deal that includes the whole mess. Once you do the logo and typo, the rest of the 'kit' is easy money. Good Luck!
No real controversy - Hoverdesk (HVD) is a direct competitor of StarDock's Object Bar product. Business sense dictates that it is neither wise nor profitable to promote your competitor's products, expecially if it costs StarDock money to do so. SD and HVD are on quite friendly terms and there's no animosity between the two companies or their principal parties. The majority of Hoverdesk themes (over 220 of 'em) live hapily on Deviantart's servers. BTW - If you didn't know, I'm one of HVD
I'm getting a little weary of Neowin's troubles - one after another... Neobond isn't a fool, so why so much trouble over there?
Most likley you're using a very old skin that was released prior to scrollbar skinning being available for Windowblinds. Since the author wasn't able to skin the scrollbars at the time, there wouldn't be any code or graphics to so so. What skin is giving you problems? - Check some of the dates in the skin's folder, are they pretty old?
Wombat1 - yes I am indeed the very same fellow
There is a bully (Saddam) across town (Iraq). He is brutal and I fear him. Does this give me the right to seek him out and dispose of him because he might have a weapon and seek to harm me or my friends? Am I wise to march into a neighborhood where I am already unliked and attempt to carry out this deed? Won't his friends an allies strive to vindicate his demise? What if I fail on my attempt to dispose of him? What if I only succeed in taking his weapons away? The US is hated in
Better yet, rather than expect skinners to second guess your desires, fire up a paint program and make your own skin. You won't find a simpler app to skin. You need to create one image and then use the built-in config tool to finish up the rest. No coding necessary, no multiple images, just super easy!

Yeah, I just saw it. > I'm not a member there so I can't even bark about it. I trust the "community" will leave appropriate comments. Have at 'em!
Well, as is typical for that POS site, I can't connect because their wimpy-ass server can't handle the load. What skin this time? >
Puddle of Mudd - She F'ing hates me.
Jafo - Hmpf. You'd be pleased to know that I finished in the top 10 (7th)in my first MTB race this season. I managed to avoid those sudden gusts of gravity, plus I was very familiar with the venue.
AquaJack, Thankd for your comments! I'll try not to let the God of 3D crown go to my head... much
SysMetrix has been my favorite meter app since I first downloaded it! Beats the hell out of Sysmeter!
Bitchy old man rant on: NFL = No F*ckin Life I'd rather find a pick-up game in my neighborhood, make art, ride my mtn. bike, spend time with my wife, tinker in the garage, see a movie, listen to my son's band, take a nap, read a book... well just about anything other than watch those overpaid fools and commentators. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/notsure.gif" bor
The small scroll bar is what Windows will display when the scroll bar reduces to a point where normal scaling (with margins) produces an undesirable result. This might occur when you have a lot of entries in a small window. Your nomal scrollbar graphic is say 16 pixels tall with a few non stretching / tiling pixels top and bottom. So when you have a really tiny scrollbar, rather than display an ugly compromize, you create and define the small scrollbar image and then WB displays that in
