Dinosaurs rule! Can't wait to see the updates - Mike is a great choice for the dirty work of dusting off these relics.

/me reads, shakes head, and thanks the Heavens that Kona0197 doesn't run my local bike shop.
2002 XTR Group - sorry about that. I added the date to differentiate from the new XTR stuff and blew it anyway. Pffft. No one offers more component value than Giant. Your road bike opinion is as misguided as most hiker's opinions of MTB'ers.
I can't believe I missed this thread. The $10,000+(USD) stable includes: Satin Black Giant NSR Air - 19.6 Lbs Full 2003 XTR group, Hayes Hydraulics, Mavix CrossMax UST wheels with Hutchinson Python tubeless wheels. Hugi240 hubs. CF riser bar, Thompson seatpost, Selle Italia Ti seat. Time Carbon pedals, Manitou Black Elite fork. Red/Black Giant NRS-2 - 23.0 Lbs (wife's) - pretty much stock with the exception of XTR rear der. and women's specific seat re
Tim (essorant) and I thank you very much.
Well don't expect much. I don't mean that to sound like your skins aren't worthy, but the majority sentiments are: A: The "free!" crowd obviously won't donate. B: Other skinners often feel like they've "paid their dues" already by skinning for public consumption. C: The "typical" user when confronted with the minor moral conflict of donating or walking off with a freebie with no consequence, will opt not to donate. I think that setting up the donation service, and actua

Hover Inc. is excited to announce availability of the 3.0 HoverDesk beta for registered HoverDesk users and users who are still in their 30 day trial period. Hoverdesk 3.0 brings loads of new display options that bring much of Windows XP's "eyecandy" to Windows 2000 users. New options include fully alpha blended icons/PNG tiles that can zoom, spin, have color effects and even be animated! Soft dropshadows abound with enhancements to many core features and plug-ins. We've created two new often re
Hey! Thanks for all the behind the scenes efforts here. I guess the violation is gone, so all's well. This site sounds like a real "treasure".
"It's very simple: Dictators with WMD are dangerous." Hey!!! Oh... dangerous not Dangeruss, had me a bit woriied there...
Sure Peff. All us skinners will make skins faster with faster computers / software... Do just about anything on your computer and notice if the computer is waiting on you, or you're waiting on the computer. Disclaimer: Bryce renders or other pure processing time not included. Actual creation and input is what I'm speaking of.
I think this has been out about a week now. - there was previously a front page news item on this.

Styl, I use 3D studio MAX ver 5.1 (just upgraded) for the bulk of my modeling and rendering. Some of my modeling I accomplish with various CAD tools including AutoCAD 2000, Unigraphics, and AutoDesk Inventor. I'll use these when it's job related or there's a high level of dimensional accuracy involved. From those programs, I'll export a .3DS file and import it into MAX. In MAX, I'll assign materials, do any animation setup, and create appropriate lighting. Rendering is done mostly with
@ Styl, Thatks for the link - I hadn't seen this site yet. @ all - thanks for all the kind comments.

Check this out! http://www.ericknelson.com/wurp/sax_render3.jpg It's not a wallpaper specifically, but a few minutes in a paint program could extend the background and you'd have it.
"Or would they prefer a WB4 release for XP to be in say March and then Win9X show up in Fall of this year?" Probably. I use Win2K at work since XP is not our corporately supported OS. I think the current version of WB skins almost every conceivable control in Win2K, so that wouldn't bother me if there was a delay for Win2000. The stuff like skincast doesn't really interest me too much. The poll makes it sound like WB would be an XP only product - as if it wouldn't run under 200
