Okay so this is exactly the same problem I'm having with no text in the mission description screen no mission objectives and no teams. My system specs are as follows, Win98SE AMD Athlon 1.33 gig 768 MB RAM Nvidia Geforce4 So it looks like we have a few things in common. Hope someone in charge comes and takes a look at this because it seems like its not just an isolated incident.
MADJOSEPH: I have had the same problem and have brought it to the attention of Carielf during the beta testing but to no avail. What are your system specs as I am just curious as to whether the problem may be due to some similarity between our two systems. Otherwise, if I were you I would bring this up on the bug report page for AP.
CariElf: The missing text issue is with the existing campaign and all scenarios contained within and with any scenario I create with the scenario editor. It has nothing to do with the map editor as I have not tried to create any maps. This is happening with the most current version of AP on stardock central. I have also tried deleting the entire GalCiv directory from my computer, clearing the SDC temporary file and then redownloading GalCiv and the latest AP (which btw is a p
Still not seeing text in Scenario description screen in either mission description, objectives or teams. Also having problems with scenario editor and campaign editor. Unable to open existing campaigns or scenarios. Newly created scenarios do not show text in game either as mentioned above. Specs: Win98SE AMD Athlon 1.33 Mhz
With the latest release candidate 2, I am still unable to see any text on the mission description/objectives/teams screen. The map does show up fine though. Interestingly, I can go through the scenario editor, open the "unexpected coincidence" mission and the proper text is there but it still will not show up in game. This is also true if I create a scenario,the mission description I write does not show up on the screen with the map, mission description, objectives and teams.

Ok just downloaded AP and wanted to try out the campaign. Clicked the campaign button, clicked continue on the caimpaign selection screen and then the mission description screen comes up but nothing is written on it. Boxes for objective, teams and mission are blank. Any help?
I also have been having a sound issue with the game since I updated to 1.19. The sound is garbled whenever I hit the turn button, then clears up while I make my moves and then is garbled again as soon as I hit the turn button. Seems like maybe some interference when the computer is making its moves....don't know if this is theh same thing you have been experiencing but it could be.
Thanks for the new ships in the expansion Frogboy. I think we all appreciate what appears to be a lack of trimming of the expansion as had been proposed before. Any chance you'll also be including the new events as previously promised as well?

Recently updated my GalCiv to the new version and now when the submission screen comes up I can click on submit until the cows come home and it does not take. I have a dial up connection that is active while clicking submit and everything about my account is the same as it was before the update. Any other dial up modem folk out there having problems? plephart
I'd buy it at a reseller as I also cannot download it directly from stardock. Of course my inability to download it directly from stardock is entirely dependant on the size. I plan on downloading the free expansion pack and if the pay expansion was of comparable size I would be able to download it as well.

Good points Pontius. While I am a die hard football fan, you are right about the past super bowl winners and mediocrity...the age of the dynasty is over, the best you can do now is to hope to remain competitive and to try and secure your top 3 players. I have to disagree somewhat about the merits of baseball. Of all the professional sports here its by far the most corrupt and disorganized. The commissioner is a figurehead at best and the league is actually run by the richest owners.
