As I mentioned in my feedback, these encounters play against the dialogue. We are either way more powerful than everyone thought we were (not likely where the story is headed) or the ships we were fighting were the Scryve equivalent of pleasure craft. <br
Sense of Urgency This is, by far, the most major concern I have with Star Control: Origins' opening chapter. Let's set the stage... We've spent millennia, simultaneously hoping for and fearing first contact with an alien species. Cave drawings, sightings, tinfoil hats, endless UFO hunters, abductions, probing, blockbuster movies, novels, documentaries, billions of dollars in government funding -
Sweet! I wanna set it to 2 and see what happens.
No, you really don't. Mine was preset to 2 for whatever reason, and it was like trying to swim through cement. It was mind-numbingly slow and choppy because my system couldn't handle it.

It appears that the Androsynth ARE in the game, because I currently have First Officer Kerry and 4 of his clones on my crew manifest. Am I supposed to be able to have multiple First Officer Kerrys? Also, I agree with those who've asked for more camera control in the solar system. I'd like the option to zoom out. And please return the friction-free space movement from SC2. When I stop my thrusters, I should still keep moving in outer space, not come
try this: go to your my games folder in documents, open Star Control, open settings.ini a d change the terrain quality from 1 to 0 and try. Turn off AA also.
Yep the change to zero did the trick (although it was actually set at 2 before I changed it). Obviously I'm gonna need to buy a new graphics card, though. Any suggestions?

1. Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 17134) 2. 16GB RAM 3. Intel(R) HD Graphics 530, 8GB RAM 4. Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700 CPU @ 3.40GHz For the most part, it runs smoothly, until I start the process for landing on and searching a planet. At that point, everything runs at about the speed of congealing glue. The landing animation is slow and choppy. When I finally reach the planet, the screen goes gray for half a moment and a white

I entered that Tywom code here, and it said it was accepted, but there's no beta version showing up anywhere that I can find. If I try to run "Star Control: Origins" I get the error from the image in my previous post. Do I click on the "Fleet Battles" Beta instead?
To the point, we can see in May update that the Fleet battles in addition to the shrinking arena (new feature), worm holes (new feature) and storms (new feature), you added scavenging and who knows what else...
I think a simple approach to this (much like in other fighting games like SSB) is to allow the player beforehand to place checkmarks next to the battle elements they'd like to be part of their arena. You don't want scaven

Frogboy? Are you there? I'm really curious about the answer to this question. I named my planet (ZoLu) after my daughters, Zoe & Lucy, and I would love to be able to show them the planet named after them. But I'm afraid it's gonna take me forever to find it. So, please please include a planet search tool! [e digicons]:pout:[/e]

Yes. Fleet Battles are all fine and dandy, but this...THIS is what I've been waiting over 25 years for. Please include me in the BETA test.

Does anybody know if there is going to be a way to search for specific planets by name? For those Founders who got to name a planet, and I'd love it if we were able to hone right in on it rather than spend hours just randomly searching for it. Sidenote--is there a possibility that Founders will have a say in their planet's design, or is it too late for that?

I agree with OctateZero about the Chenjesu. Since we never saw them in their original form (just the Chmmr hybrid) in SC2, it would be nice to interact with them (and perhaps the Mrrnmhrrm as well) in their native states.
Fot. In SC2, you have the Zoq-Fot-Pik who banned together to eliminate the Zebransky. Unfortunately, this team up didn't occur in our universe. Largely due to a Frungy dispute bet

I like the idea of at least referencing "missing" alien races from SC2, like the Taalo (or the Burvixese, please). Or perhaps there could even be a minor one-time encounter. But please avoid making any of them major species in Origins. I like the number that you have (Arilou & Melnorme, plus minor encounters from obscure species).
You could take some inspiration from The Expanse opening credits. A montage-based opening sequence wouldn't be original, but could "show instead of tell" the history between the 1950s to now and onto 2086.
I also agree with the montage-style opening sequence. It always seems effective when used for other sci-fi properties, and I feel it could adapt well to Star Control. The

I'm fine with modding being available, as long as the original game is there as well. Imagine if after playing through the entire story of SC2 you got to create some alien races and ships of your own! Sure, there will be some people that create nothing better than SCnot3, but having all of that extra to mess around with if you want wouldn't change the fact that the original game was awesome.
