So for fun, I tried playing a default Terran Alliance no changes. Every thing seemed ok!?! I rebooted and tried default Terrans again and still ok. Then I tried a custom civ and the issue with text and ship icons came back. So at this point the issue seems related to using a custom civ. Hi, This feature seems to have been retrofitted into my existing custom civs after upgrade. I ended up removing all of them. I want to build a custom civ of humans with industry and such like the Terrans. I tried using the Terrans as a template/copy and also just starting a custom civ, but I keep getting some nurture den and such as starting buildings. Is there something I should be doing to ensure I get the Terran building set with my custom civ?
I use the Treasure Hunting mission a lot because I tend to run a deficit.

Maybe scavenger missions to boost elerium, etc so you can retrofit existing ships with the newest technology from time to time.
It looks like treasure hunting rewards have been reduced, but getting 9 credits seems a little low.
I used the missions a lot in GC3, but I have only sent out 3 or 4 missions in over 500 hours of play in GC4SN. I found attaining and keeping #1 status in miliary rank stops a lot of AI aggression towards my civ, but keeps my yards busy building ships. If someone has tips on how to use missions effectively in the current form please let me
building icons are missing.
This bug has been around for a long time now. People images also only show up when they want on this screen :). Now I think of it as a mini game of hide and seek, I know the population is there, but are they a farmer or worker, etc....
i have had the same issue, using a nvidia 3080 ti graphics card. 100% GPU Load. i reduced the GPU Load to now 26% with VSYNC=ON and particels, softparticels and Blooming = OFF. I noticed when I turned particles off, the blackholes mostly disappeared, leaving the center black circl
Galactic Bazaar Allow manual entry of quantity Allow for time-dependent fluctuation of prices Allow prices to rise and fall with purchase and sale to scale of galaxy size (larger galaxy = smaller changes)
This is excellent. Also please consider the resource scarcity setting on map creation. 2 Questions; 1. Is the market value of an item considered in trades with AI civs? <p
You can gain access to Supernova features, if you already have basic GC4, buy buying Supernova at great discount. Very similar to how it would have worked with an addon
I am not sure how others feel, but I felt GC4 was an unfinished game that had support pulled from it before it was 'done'. In a nutshell it feels like GC4 was abandoned. You should not need to pay to continue getting support
You'll only be able to play medium size universes with fewer AI Civs
This is a good point. I only finished 1 game on immense with a single sector. It was a drag in the 'early late' game, but got a bit better as the number of civs dropped off. Mostly I now either play large single maps, or tiny/small with a lot/max number of sectors. I also tend to play less then 25 civs. The default
old PC handle Gal Civ IV Supernova?
I mostly run it on a laptop I bought for school work a couple years ago. Only upgrade was 32GB RAM and output to a large monitor. ACER Aspire A515-43, this was/is not a gaming system and listed under 400 on amazon when new. Besides the RAM, your specs seem better than the laptops.
Probably more popular with that feature would be my bet : )
I would also think that would be true. Will there be hosted gaming rooms, with perhaps posted gathering times for longer adhoc games? Blizzard had a great working model for ~20-60 minute games at one time. A dueling room might generate interest and spawn groups that get together for longer games.
