Quoting Isky, reply 4 Personally, I'd like to know if it's just naming a planet or if you also get to choose any of the attributes of the planet. There's a difference between a planet that some thought went into customizing vs. just randomly naming a planet.

I want an automatic tracking of the planets I've visited. I do NOT want an indicator that I have to revisit worlds if I get a better technology. I want an ability to manually add notes to the map and add manual entries to my captain's log. I want important conversation pieces to be logged in my captain's log. I do not want a quest log that tells me what to do, where to do it, how to do it and when to do it. <p
I agree. Non-stars should be hidden unless they are giving off tremendous amounts of energy for a looooooong time. What if your star view is limited by your location on the map? I don't mean just a fog-of-war. I mean that your relative position affects the brightness of a star. You head out from Earth in your FTL ship towards a star that is 100 light years away. From Earth, it look

Hearing the music while flying through hyperspace was like feeling the wind on my face while sailing. Feeling the pounding of the bass while talking to the Ur-Quan made me feel their hostility. All of these experiences were because of the music. It gives a superb feeling of
Hey! It's December 2nd, already! Where's our December package in the Vault? [e digicons]O:)[/e] By the way, nowhere does it say that you can't release multiple packages in a month [e digicons][/e]
Would it be possible to have some regions we do not have a map for? We'd have a map of the known space and beyond that... we'd need to explore. One of the letdowns, in SC2, was when I entered Quasispace and discovered that I had all the points available on a map. I'd never been there, for crying out loud. Let me wander around a bit, find my bearings and discover things! Personally, I'd like it if, when stumbling on a re

I wouldn't like to see this kind of ship mod. At this point, it's just playing Munchkin with ships, whatever veneer you put on it. You know, at some point, if we're going to implement this kind of "upgrades" to ship, why not give levels to the captain, give it a class and have the captain's abilities improve over time? An Arilou (never mind that they're not going to be in the reboot) would be worth 5 XP, while an (whatev
I would also appreciate the clarification. I'm so excited about this game, I don't even know if I'm supposed not to tell my fiancee about it or if I can divulge something... :-)
Something that is missing from planet samples up to now: will we see indication of civilization on planets?
That would be great! Industrial civilizations would emit quite a bit of radio/mind waves, and should be detectable from afar, in space, whereas preindustrial civilizations would be hardly noticeable, until orbit is attained.
I would love to be able to play in a cooperative fashion. If that could be in... I'd buy another licence for my fiancee and I to play together.
An aspect from the original combat that occurred in Star Control that is going away is the screen wrap around. This was an aspect that was very disorienting, instead of wrapping around to the other side of the screen the edge of the solar system is going to be considered a disengage zone, where if you spend too much time in it the ship you are controlling is going to run away.
Hurray!!! It always enr
I have to add my voice to those that feel that the planet design as far as we can see it at the moment is a bit too cartoonish. I'm not saying to do away with the cartoon side. But I would rather have something a bit more serious. If we were approaching the solar system in a starship and we had advanced detection equipment (idea, there?), we would see planets like discs of color, distinguishible from one another but not car
For one, I could enjoy a bit more interaction with locals, like in Starflight II. I wouldn't want it to be as necessary as it was in SFII, but would enjoy a bit more depth. In SCII, I often found that I had no choice but to do the diplomacy and trading was strictly restricted to the starbase or the Melnorme (the Druuge don't count).
The only ships I ever used were the earthling cruiser in the Ilwrath fight, the Chmmr against whatever I didn't want to face with the main ship, and the Pkunk against the Sa-Matra. -What if there were races that were enemies, and that had evolved their ships to hurt the other race's baaaaad? -What if some races would bring engineering bonuses, thus unlocking specific kinds of upgrades?
