We've known about Long Journey Home for awhile now. Honestly we aren't worried about it, for a number of reasons. I can promise you that Star Control will look better than what they are showing off.

Absolutely that is why you guys are here. However if you see a development build with a planet full of mushrooms labeled Venus, it is safe to assume the obvious common sense is that isn't what we are planning on having Venus look like. That being said there will be a time when we show more final screens of the game that we will come out and say are looking pretty close to final. When that time comes I'm more than happy when things we may have missed get ca

I feel like I shouldn't have to make this statement but I will. You guys are looking at in development screen shots of the game. Now what does that mean? That means you will screenshots of things that are in progress or in a testing state. It means that what you are looking at could very well be a test case for an aspect of the game we may be working on or testing. As founders you are looking at the game in a much more RAW form of development. You are seeing images we would
For folks like myself who have motion sickness, we avoid games that are all 3D first person or even just tilted angled in a weird way.
I am one of those folks! It is my personal campaign to make sure you don't get motion sick playing the ground game of Star Control. To touch upon this a bit. The current camera behaves more like a chase helicopter. The camera follows the lander around but isn't hard locked to the movement of the
Will SCO fare better if it is 90% filler too?
Whoever said SCO was going to be 90% filler? I promise we won't strand you on a planet for hours at a time. You will be visiting and exploring different planets within the first 30 seconds of gameplay, (unless you decide you don't want to and just want to sit and admire the pretty stars).

Or maybe we are saving them for a future update. ;) I believe we included a couple early on in the founder's vault already.
However, it seems like being a founder has been pretty passive so far. I had a ton of ideas racing through my head for aliens, ships, systems, UI
It depends on how you define passive and non-passive. We aren't going to ask the founders to write code or make textures. :) We do however want any and all your feedback on the things we do share. Also feel free to share the ideas you have, and be sure to check out the

You should have received an email when you bought your founder's edition that had the links to the vault and forums. You may want to check your spam filter to see if it is sending Stardock emails to it.

Yeah, we are not going to allow anyone to switch. Part of what you got for the Full Founder's edition was being the first to the party to see things. Also, some things we have released to you may not be accessible in the future without it. The Full Founder's is a great deal, we plan on doing a lot of expansion stuff for the game.

To Clarify what has been offered. There was the Original founder's that you all bought for $99. With that came all the bells and whistles. Ability to name a planet, free DLC and expansions for life, etc.... The reduced price version which we sent out was done after that but did not include any of the perks. They only get access to the forums, vault, and the release of the game. None of the DLC, Expansion, or other perks.
Hi everyone. Re: participation rates in forum. I joined the program Nov 2015. I haven't received a single communication saying that the forum or the vault was up and running. I haven't checked in a few months but last time I clicked on any of the links I had originally they were throwing up errors. I didn't know about the 'discount' founders version either. Bit disappointed that I haven't had the

Yep, it doesn't have to do with the quality of the art, it's there to protect you as an artist and us as a company. Just think of how it would suck for your art to be used but then you never got paid for the work you did and didn't get officially credited. From our side, imagine if we used it and then you wanted money for it after the fact because it was such a hit. It really is a no win - no win situation. BUT... this is where the modding and our support towar

Well I read all the forum posts and try to make sure I read the forums at least once a day. While the idea is a good one there are legal issues with using anything that is created by non-employees of Stardock. We would have to commission individuals for their artwork. We have a very talented group of artists who have been concepting critters in the world recently and we plan on sharing more of them in the upcoming months.

Let's go ahead and clear up some assumptions about the planet gameplay. Where you land on a planet matters. Just landing anywhere on the planet can work for some planet environments, but landing in the wrong spot can doom your lander crew to an untimely death. Landing in the middle of a lava lake, or into the jaws of a critter for example is probably not conducive to a long lander life. The type of planet makes landing more or less hazardous and present different challenges
Question, will melee be seamless as well? I mean in the original star control, when you encountered a ship in a system, it would engage a separate screen were you would chose to fight or talk. Will that be preserved? Or will we be able to fire on them right from the get-go, while we are still in exploring mode?
This is being preserved. Having this decision was an important one, and the play

These are the decisions that we make as a development team on a daily basis. :) Auto-complete on tool vs game feature for Star Control. Pretty much game features win hands down. Most of us also type really fast (in excess of 90wpm) so it's not as big of a deal.

Flags are binary. You can create them then turn them on and off. If you create a flag it will persist and not be removed. There are no plans to allow variables to be stored.
