I use LiteStep, Rainlendar (as a LiteStep module), and Trillian. I vote for those three - but I'll still visit the LS section here even if it isn't in the default menu. That's where I always go first anyway, after the front page. I think I'll upload my LS theme soon, too, and help boost those statistics.

Did the weather objects scrape data from weather.com, by chance? I wrote a script to do weather for LiteStep and when it stopped working I saw that they had made deliberate changes to the html code that broke the search algorithm (regexp's). I updated it, but they'll probably change it again. They don't want you to scrape their info unless you load the page and view the ads - they suggest using their XML feed instead. I think you're confusing "better" with "Scores in the upper 2% of general population on IQ test" though. They don't make any claim to be better, at least there. I do theme-switching with popup menu bang commands (it edits the step.rc file and recycles). I create the popup with a vbscript that scans my "Themes" folder and makes an entry for each folder in there. No previewing or anything fancy like that, but since I kind of know what I put in there already, what's the point? - I use the latest 0.24.7 beta3 on winxp@home and win2k@work.
I think that key is also set in your "Tools-Folder Options" menu, "View" tab: "Launch folder windows in a separate process". I'm not sure as to why it might appear in multiple locations, or what the consequnces might be. As long as you're running OK I wouldn't worry too much.
Just double that "t" at the end of don't, and swap it to the other side of the space. I don't know what I was "hinking"...
That key is supposed to keep the explorer "Shell" from starting when you use the explorer "file manager", IIRC. If it isn't there, I don't hink you have a problem. Some people need to add it when they install LS; since you're uninstalling I think you're fine. If there are additional complications, feel free to post again.

I'd like to see skins for both Rainlendar and Trillian. I've used both for a long time now, at least in the PC sense. Rainlendar is updated as often as necessary, or whenever feature requests pile up. It's written and maintained by Kimmo Pekkola (aka Rainy) who also codes rainmeter - like sysmetrix, but with litestep module compatability (same for rainlendar).
