It's AMD! your problem is AMD, get the darkness out of your PC and get a gtx 900 series card with dx12/12.1 support. And don't get fooled by the dx 12_3 lie, get gtx cards! OMG lol rotfl. Larsenex is our resident fan boy. :) A year from now I imagine the ram per game will be much lower. Right now it's sad that there isn't anything we can do. (Unless we can mod it) but someone should not need a gtx titan and a 5930 6 core processor and 32GB

I typically put life support on ships regardless, as they are immersive. But later in the beta and early in the release when I was making more versions of ships, I noticed that I could colonize and build "range bubbles" so domestic ships, local invasion ships, or even standard war ships did not need any life support. Sadness. DARCA ;)
