Is local match (hotseat) fleet battles not available right now? I can't get past the ship selection screen. For Player 2, when I try to go select his ships the game just freezes up. Is this normal?

Hi Everyone, I am trying to play a local match with my friend on one computer. But for some reason it wont' allow me to pick ships for the second player's fleet. Can anyone help me with this issue? Thanks!

Coming from a business background myself, your position seems to make more sense. But I think the only way to really clear the air and set the record straight would be a public release of the document outlining the agreement they had with Accolade. Not sure on the feasibility of doing that as those sorts of materials can be sensitive, but that would really be the only way to tell which side is talking crazy.

And yeah, on the gravity thing, it seems like a really difficult aspect to get just right. Too little and it's meaningless, too much of an effect and it's like a black hole sucking the ship in. I'd imagine it's a very complex mechanism to program for and calibrate.

I just played my first ranked match and found it incredibly fun. Near the end of the match though, I had killed quite a few of my opponent's ships but wasn't sure if he had any left. After I had destroyed one of his Plinth's, the game sort of just hung there as my ship flew around crashing into asteroids without a new ship appearing. Is the crazy cyborg as currently configured meant to be unbeatable? I still beat it really handily every time I play. And the fleets I create to fight with is basically just one of each ship, same for the AI. I wasn't looking at crew #s or damage #s. It did feel like if I ever got hit by a shot it was instant death for my small ships, but still all-in-all the difficulty mode was rather easy to win as flaws in AI processing/reaction can be gamed. I am glad to see Stardock taking their time and giving the title more TLC. I'm also glad to see them move away from PG planets and focus on sculpted planets. In terms of balance and UI, I think the crew bar is really weird right now. I'm used to knowing exactly how much damage I will do with each shot. Ur-Quan Dreadnought used to kill 6 members with a shot. Kohr-Ah razor did 4 dmg. Spathi BUTT missile did 2. Because I had this hard info, I could make decisions in a split second about what move I wanted to make in a fight. The concept pics look better to me actually. More realistic and natural. Regardless of whether or not the commander can be changed at this point, I hope voicing my opinion will help create dialogue and also help guide future design decisions in possible DLCs or sequels. I don't know about anything else but that Human Commander is just ugly as sin. Immediately makes me think I'm playing a game designed for 5 year olds. I don't know what it is. I've never studied art in any sort of a technical or professional sense. But just as a consumer I can say that the human commander gives me the impression that this is a lower quality game. I would like to participate as well unfortunately I am based out of Shanghai and even with a VPN Discord does not work for me. There is a problem connecting to chat servers from Chinese IPs. Probably due to the Great Firewall. Really makes me sad, as I love this franchise, and have been here since the beginning of it all. Hopefully future interactions between founders and Stardock will not be bottlenecked through the discord app.

The human caricature that I remember from SC2 was mostly from the Arilou and the Pkunk. The Arilou because of their unique connection to Humans and the Pkunk because they could read human minds/psychich etc. Other than that, most of the alien species were pretty damn alien-like. I really hope this post gets more attention too. Cuore hit the nail on the head with this one. I've seen the developer notes and what Brad and the others think are the essential elements of SC2, but for me SC2 has always been about the story more than anything. The story is what compelled me to wander around in hyperspace and shuttle from one place to the next. Without a captivating story, I couldn't have cared less what my landers picked up or how strong my fleet got etc. TB
