I'm a bit of fanboy but I do understand your concerns and frustrations. There are things that are missing and things that I wish were in GalCiv3 that GalCiv2 had. That said, I don't dwell long on the short-term because what we are playing today will be much different, and more stable, years from now. They have said many times this is a multi-year process. I'm in it for the long haul. There will be bumps along the way. There will

Since July 10th has come and gone with no Dev Stream for GalCiv 3, I was unable to get some key questions answered. I will post them here: 1) Did Paul and lovely wife enjoy their Alaskan cruise over Stardock break? 2) Since there was no Dev stream, has Paul actually returned from said cruise or has he decided to live in Alaska permanently, build a cabin in the wilderness and sustain himself by mining for gold? (asking for a friend who works

Glad it worked, Franco. :) I recently deleted some of my custom factions on the Workshop because I read that they were not displaying properly. I'll upload them again after I have troubleshot them. Apologies if this caused any issues.

You may have to go in and manually delete the workshop files. Look here: Windows(C:)/Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/(some numbered folders) In that content folder will be some numerical folders ("466309364" or "465897654" and so on). Open those folders and check the contents. If you see the name of the factions you downloaded (or ship templates, etc.), try and delete the faction folder from here.

Yeah...I got this, too. Can't upgrade my first starbase because there is no screen (have background only, but no cool buttons to press). UPDATE: I tried verifying my Steam cache and it did download a "missing file" but that didn't work either. The screen IS there (I hear sounds when I click on where the buttons are supposed to be, but there is no display). Will keep hammering away... UPDATE 2: I received some sort of upda

Was playing with the latest build and noticed this: I had just built a mining starbase when I noticed a second resource close by. I decommissioned the starbase I just built but the "pulsating line" that connects the resource to the starbase remained. It remained even after I built a new mining starbase (the "line" was pointing to a now empty hex). However, I saved the game then immediately loaded it up again. The "line to nowhere

Since the announcement of custom factions hopefully being added in the next beta, I thought I'd share some portraits I've created. If you're familiar with a certain beloved strategy game you should be able to recognize these seven particular factions. I've taken them and re-tooled them using actual people (Hollywood actors, to be exact). Still a work in progress. [URL=http://s42.photobucket.com/user/jayjayh3/media/factions2_zpsb2mflhol.

No problem. Thanks for the heads up and I hope all of Stardock enjoy their holiday! And make sure Paul is restricted from too much game code access...the man needs to decompress for a few days. [e digicons];)[/e]

I'll hijack this thread and post what I'd like to see as well. :) When creating custom races, I would like to be able to select another race that is "at odds" with my custom race..or even make two custom races "at odds" with each other. In other words, for whatever reason, these two races would always mistrust one another (because of ideology, etc.). In the old game Alpha Centauri, for example, the Gaians (environmentalists) were always in conflict w
