Have you tried to talk to several different people or just one so far? Either way, toss me some system specs and I can look into it a little further, particularly sound card type and driver version, and firewall type/name. I wonder how much this has to do with the firewall? I had an instance where a firewall would log me off of messenger if I wasn’t actively using it (messenger). Is it possible for you to test this w/o the firewall to rule that out? You know, there was a messenger audio

Bangkokboy- I find it ironic that D.C. has the most strict gun laws in all of the US (I believe) and this is going on there, so I get where you were going with the first post… heh… This guy was gonna do this regardless of any gun law that was in place.
I’m not sure how much liberal gun ownership has to do with this instance. A guy shooting an intruder in his house or a co-worker that gets fired, goes home, gets his gun, and returns to work to exact his revenge is a by-product of liberal gun ownership. Could very well be terrorist related, however he (they?) did take the weekend off, which to me indicates someone with a family or family-like responsibilities on the weekends. *thinking* I use MS Messenger daily for voice chat and it's amazing. Regarding the lost voice signals, hmmm... I don't know if IM uses any hardware acceleration with it's sound but you can try and turn your sound acceleration down a notch and see if that helps.
