Actually, there is a difference. MSN Messenger supports UPnP 100% while Windows Messenger still has issues with the way some routers use UPnP. Also, to use some of the “phone” features you have to be running MSN Messenger as they’ve been removed from Windows Messenger. Also, if you check the version numbers you will find that they are, in fact, two different products. They use many of the same features but they are different products when you get right down to it. I’ll post a list of al

… and one more thing: the RIAA killed Napster, not Metallica. Metallica’s biggest beef was that Napster was making millions off of copy written (?) material without the artists consent. Metallica actually worked out a deal with Napster that would have allowed their music to be traded “legally”. It was the RIAA who buried Napster in lawsuits that ended it. Not to worry though, as several of the the people involved with Napster made it out with multiple-millions of dollars before it was shut down…

Well, I hate to be the one to disappoint all of the haters here, but I’ve heard the first five songs off of the new CD, and all I could say afterwards was… That’s right, I was speechless for a few minutes. I’ve listened to Metallica since I was given this “Metal Massacre I” tape around ’83 that had this kick butt tune called “Hit the Lights” on it. At the time I was blown away by that version of the tune and became an instant fan. Fast forward to today and I have to say t

Thanks, that worked Ok, since you were able to answer those questions, I have yet another (sorry!) Is there a way to have a WB skin *not* skin the taskbar? I've found that if I minimize the taskbar to a thin slice that when it pops up it is so miniscule that it doesn't bother anything, however some WB skins seem to impose a minimum width on this. Any way to override this? Thanks a

Hi all, Ok - so I've got ObjectBar rollin' along here and I want to tweak it a bit. When you click on some menu options (mainly the Start menu) there is a little set of arrows that indicate there are "more options" if you click here. I want it to display full menus at all times. Is this possible? And second, is there any way to keep the Windows taskbar hidden? It stays hidden most of the time, but when I get an IM it pops up and kind of ruins the illusion, if you know what I mean. Anyhow, an

I've been giving Object Bar a try today, but no matter how I try and load the skins, only a few will actually load. The rest return the following error: No ObjectBar Theme Definition File (.obtheme) was found within the theme package! Package was extracted but not loaded. Realoading old theme... I've tried to load them with the Wincustomize browser, via opening them directly in IE, and by downloading them to my HD and trying to install them locally. They all return the same

I’ve finished up with one “color” of my skin for WindowBlinds, but I want to add two more “colors”, or sub-designs, so when the user clicks on the new skin in the sub-design drop down they will be able to select a “color”… is this possible or do I have to use masking to get this done? Thanks!

I've installed Object Dock on two machines. On one it installed with a few backgrounds and what-not. On another there are no backgrounds available in the same list. I have dloaded a few but have yet to figure out how to get them to work in Object Dock. Thanks!

The odd thing here it that it's about a 50/50 thing. Like right now I have two IM sessions going and as people IM me the little guy will start hopping up and down on the Object Dock bar. But in a little wile the Windows taskbar itself will reappear as the IM's come in, so the little guy will hop AND the Windows taskbar will appear with the flashing app on it. It just seems to change its behavior randomly and I don't know why this happens. If I open Object Dock's properties and uncheck and rechec

I've got WindowBlinds, ObjectBar and ObjectDock running, and all is pretty much good except for this one little annoying thing: Whenever I get an IM or a pop-up message from Outlook, the Windows taskbar pops up until I click on the message that needs attention. It wasn’t doing this at first, but it seems that a reminder from Outlook started it, and now Instant Messenger causes it too… Any ideas? Thanks <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/bigsmile.gif" border=0 A

So I jump ship in Hong Kong and make my way over to Tibet, and I get on as a looper at a course over in the Himalayas. A looper, you know, a caddy, a looper, a jock. So, I tell them I'm a pro jock, and who do you think they give me? The Dalai Lama, himself. Twelfth son of the Lama. The flowing robes, the grace, bald... striking. So, I'm on the first tee with him. I give him the driver. He hauls off and whacks one -- big hitter, the Lama -- long, into a ten-thousand foot crevice, right at the bas

I'm in the "Bottom Bar" graphic and adjusting the content margin numbers (which are 0 by default) and nothing is happening ... thinking... I know that I have to be missing something that is painfully obvious...

Ok, so far so good. The tips have really helped. The one thing that I’m really stuck on are the content margins in the “Log Off / Shut Down” areas of the Start Menu. I cannot figure out how to move those down or over… <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="Powered by SkinBrowser!"

Ok, I've answered a few questions with the task tray, like the content margins and stretching, but the content margin question remains for the Start Panel bottom area. It seems no matter what I do with the content margins there, the log off/on buttons and text remain in the same place... hmmmmm...

While I'm asking, how about content margins? Is there a way to specify where the content starts in an image? Currently my "Tray" image is mostly green (on the right) and a little grey (on the left). The system clock overlaps into the grey area a bit so I want to green to stretch out a bit more. I've messed around with the little "Margins" sliders but they don't seem to affect where the content resides... Hope I'm making sense.. Thanks <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/

Thanks for the info, it has actually helped quite a bit... however I've hit a point where I have to ask something here: Can the task tray (clock area) be stretched? I've set the attributes to stretch, yet it continues to tile. And on the topic of stretching, how do you determine the area to be stretched? Thanks! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="

Ok, so I’m attempting my first Windows XP WindowBlinds skin with SkinStudio and I’m highly unfamiliar with it. I made a WB skin in the past, but I only used MS Paint and Notepad (seriously) so this environment is very alien to me, and naturally I already have questions. Is there a good source for getting random SkinStudio questions answered or should I just fire away here? Thanks!
