Greetings Commander, I love the game. However I tend to mod the game to start my game and my ship with some very late game weapons. Previously I was writing directly to the game files as text edits. I was doing this same thing for another excellent Stardock game > Galactic Civilaztions III. I discovered I can simply copy the files into a mod folder, do my edits and the mod changes work AND they stay thru various updates and patches.

This is GREAT News! I love Star Control Origins and this looks like a great road map. This may not be a place to ask, will any of the legal issues impact or restrict other space based projects ( I am looking at you Gal Civ IV)? Thanks for the update.
So happy to see the game restored to both distribution platforms!
This is GREAT NEWS!
For MMO's Ill never forget the Fighter epic in original recipe Everquest. Man what a slog to get that status item. Recently Elder Scrolls online has a long series of quests you follow for its various DLC, thieves guild, Dark Brotherhood and recently Sommerset and Murkmire. All have some of the best writing I have seen in many years. Writing makes a good quest. In Star Control Origins we get a great taste of the same thing. If I had a requests it would be to add bre
Wow. very cool!
It must have been a while since I have been here. I love the forum changes and the quick way to switch from one genre to another. Kudos >>
Bionic Dance, The Bumpy-ness of the planets was annoying for me. I fixed this by going into Ships> ship components > Lander anti gravity module and changed the value from 2 to 4. The super jump lander is now actually fun. Now we bounce like we did back in the first Beta's! Its great. Now I can do several large bouncy-trouncy jumps and get over the silly walls of some of the 'canyon-esque' planets.
Rosmani and the others here with difficulties, I work on wholesale in the landscape industry and Ill give you a bit of advice. When I hear a customer blaming my product is faulty I point to the thousands of units in our yard from the original block, and go nope, nothing wrong here must be the 'expert' who installed his material in the ground and how its being watered. There are literally tens of thousands of PCs playing the game right now. I played it from Alpha th
I was trying to with hold posting spoilers. I know a system that has 300 Francium just WAITING for you.....
Pshaw, is this pre patch compatible? I restarted a new game this morning and I am not too far but I'd hate to restart again.
Achillus I sent you a private message.
That system has a feature which is instrumental to humanity........If its the system I am thinking about.
I hope they do use all the races from both SC1 and SC2, old school fans tears are the tastiest! Bring on the Melnorme, the Spathi and the others. Let the P&F apologists and fans whine and cry. Their sadness brings me joy!
I tend to auto pilot to star bases and drive manually most places. Since its faster to get around in hyperspaces you can choose the entry into a solar system on your choice.
Zwabbit that is a succinct picture of how things are and will be. We have been accused of only being Brads echo chamber here on this forum by the reddit an UQM forums folks. They clearly think that the law is completely different and that the outcome can and will be at right angles to what Brad has stated. For example Elestan continues to say the that the trademark is in question on who owns it. This is lunacy at its worst. There is zer
[quote]For example, in Sins you introduced diplomacy. For the life of me, I could not understand how to make alliances. If before you needed to complete 2~3 assignments, now you needed to meet 5~6 criteria. In GalCiv3 you added Citizens, why do I need them? it made no sense to me... Upgrade a citizen? Generals? It added complexities and handicaps to a perfectly good game. I stopped playing both games because they: Weren't the games I bough
Are the Spathi part of the original races? I know very little so my vote goes to one I hear over amd over...i hear this >>If it does not jave the Spatbi its not Star Control. Well.... Sorry but thats Star Control baby so the Spathi are in....
Oooo I build amazing ships in GCIII. Can you (masanw) give me some tips on what weapons to incorporate and why (for Fleet Battles) It never occurred to me I suck because of the stock options kinda are sub par but I figured I should learn with what is going to be in the campaign.
This is regarding to the ai in fleet battles? Here I struggle with 'idiot' level ai. You folks are fleet battle admirals if playing on higher difficulties... /bows...
I do have a legitimate question. Yesterday there was a hearing is that correct? I will assume because of a lack of information regarding it, that the information discussed will not (yet) be available to public?
[quote who="Elestan" reply="328" id="3713923"] Quoting Frogboy, reply 326 Once they filed a suit to try to cancel our trademark it forced us to take a much firmer position with regards to Star Control and its related IP. It really isn't valid to spin this as them forcing your hand, since you were the one who decided to use that trademark to sue them. Their response of trying to cancel the trademark was entirely expected once your suit was filed - there's no way their lawy
Few games will get me to read the lore. Ill do it with ESO at times and the new Battletech, I read just to make sure they kept the story on track. I fully intend on reading and absorbing the lore and nuances on the various races that SCO gives us. Its one reason why I have not delved too deeply in the lore/spoilers sections of our discord channel. I will read Frogs backstory to give me (an overall) frame of reference but each races story is to be savored.
Thanks for reply!
Here are a few things. Compelling Story, Open galaxy Freedom to go anywhere and die horribly at my own ignorance. And just to irritate Corebrave >> Save Scumming so I can repeatedly kill off races, reload and be friends again by changing my dialogue choices~!
