Already pre-ordered as well. Didn't use the 20% coupon so far, i received it after i bought everything. So i don't think i can make use of it since it expires on the 30.Sep 2008. Unless they can put up the other 2 mini-expansions for pre-order :p

Well i don't really know what to say, or how to say it. But Frogboy is the first dev i have seen in the public who is actually being realistic. He just simply says: "if you are not happy, don't buy anything from us again or just call me for a refund." I like what i read here. I will buy nearly everything. Stardock can have my cash and i just can't wait for GalCivII stuff, Demigod, Sins upcoming features/patches/expansions/mini-expansions, Not-MoM

Same here, on multiple PCs. It doesn't matter what Windows version, XP or Vista, it doesn't matter what graphic card. It seems to be a general problem, same with Sins of the Solar Empire btw. exact same perfomance loss in big battles as soon tooltips or text messages show up. My guess is, it's a general GUI programming bug.
the 9600 GT is slightly faster in clock speeds than the 8800GT but the 8800 still has better fill Rates because it runs on more tranfer tubes or whatever. However i figure the one i got is Overclocked and gives me an option to raise and lower the clock at will I figure it can possibly pull the same. Besides, they were sold out of 8800s and I really wanted to play Demigod last night
Very good choice imo, of course 9800 GX2

Meh i don't really wanna fight either, in the end everyone has good points (i did read through all newest replys though). Just one more comment.
Older gen, the GTX280 replaces it performance-wise, doesn't it? I don't get your point.
Yes in theory, but the 2 GPUs of the 9800 GX2 still owns the GTX280 on most resolutions and the GX2 is cheaper. The only real advantage of the GTX280 is Shader Model 4.1 support, but th
Why would you suggest old versions of graphics cards to people, Himmelweiss, Sorceress, verspunken?
I believe someone here thinks he is the only expert. First, the reason why i said he should get a 8800 is because he wants a cheap solution. Not everyone can spend alot of cash on Geforce 9800+ or Radeon HD4870 or whatever. I own a PC since about 14 years, my job is "Special Computer Scientist" and i'm very well familiar

I believe we will have access to such features in upcoming BETA versions because from time to time you see messages in the top saying "units have been upgraded", "defenses have been upgraded". BETA 1 is just a engine test, so i believe such features are set to auto with a timer, the longer you play, the more upgrades to units and structures you can see.
I did experience an occasion 1 or 2 second pause from time to time for seemingly no reason that I could discern.
AMD 5200+ Geforce 9800 GX2 4GB RAM Windows Vista 32 Everything High, max. AA, resolution 1280x1024 (yeah i should get a new screen someday :p) Noticed the same 1 or 2 sec pause from time to time. However, that's a general perfomance bug, no matter what spec you have, i did read about this issue in

Yes, believe it or not, but your graphic card is very very very outdated. Of course i would suggest a Geforce 9800 GX2 or Geforce GTX 280, but they are not cheap. You will do fine with a Geforce 8800. Do not buy any Geforce card of the 7 series, neither buy a 8200, 8400 low-end or 8600 mid-end card, they are way too slow for all current games and upcoming games. You say cheap, but you should afford about 100 - 150$ (i'm not familiar with US prices)

Ok well, i just noticed you talked about alt-tabbing. I have no idea if there is actually an memory leak when alt-tabbing, guess i will have to test this as well.
So, the game seems to shoot up in memory use if alt-tabbed multiple times. While initial memory use hovers around 500 MB, if alt-tabbing while playing, that number can surpass 800 MB. Is this a known issue? Most games may increase a bit in their memory footprint when repeatedly minimized, but certainly not by 60%.
Actually Yes, even by 100%. That's not a memory leak, that's standard usage of memory nowadays. Sins for example u
- The engine is (already) well optimized (unless you put the game with Q16 Antialiasing [e digicons]:P[/e] ) : the game runs great at x4, at maximum details, in 1440/900.
The game runs awesome smooth with Q16 Antialiasing. Ok well, i have a Geforce 9800 GX2, but i think Geforce 8800 GTS should be able to handle it too.

The ISP isn't caching the site, that's for sure. My own machine is caching everything yes, but i have cleared the cache of IE and Firefox and restarted, just to make sure it's not my own fault. Ok it seems the recent posts are updating. But what about the "Last Post Info" on the front page of the Forum, they all are hours behind. It's no real big issue, but i thought it could be a bug.

Win Vista 32 4 GB RAM Geforce 9800 GX2 AMD 5200+ Everytime i open the Demigod Profile the FPS drops, the game studders a bit. Other than that no FPS or lag issues. In the Profile if i mouse over any objects i own, i hear the click sound multiple times and the infobox flashes a bit. Maybe the FPS drops because it loops the click sound, just a guess. Similiar FPS loss issues i noticed in Sins a few weeks ago. G
