F&P think they own ship vs ship battles. They think they own resource collecting and sale there of as a concept. They think they own very obviously Star Trek inspired ship designs to the degree that no other ship can look remotely similar. They think they own the concept of hyperspace travel, exploring space, and making contact with other races. I played SC1 and SC2, PC and console, when they were released. I played SC3. I will play SCO. And fra

The Androsynth never happened in this shard of the multiverse.
Another question, is this game for 8-years old kid? Or too complex?
That depends more on the 8-year-old. 8 year old me had no issue with SC2. Others? It couldn't keep their attention span.
Stardock is trying to impose a licensing requirement where previously none was required. Paul and Fred published a game titled "The Ur-Quan Masters", using all of the classic race names (Arilou, Orz, Pkunk, etc.). This was all done without any license from Accolade/Atari. Given that the contracts refer to the race names as "Reiche's Intellectual Property", it seems clear that this was intentional, not them flying under the radar.
If you talk to Brad, you can just feel the disappointment over all of this. For much of his life, they were his idols. They were part of the reason he went into game development! This entire scenario really disillusioned him. Remember, he offered to sell them everything from Atari at cost just in the hopes they'd make a new Star Control game. They declined. He asked them to work with Stardock to make SCO. They declined (but only after being told n

It's already been mentioned--I forget where--that the Spore creature creator was a huge and expensive part of the game, and we oughtn't expect to have such a thing...or at least, not any time soon. But if there is some way to insert original

That spaceship exploration and adventure RPG is theirs... And that they'll

Hrm. Since many races are getting different "levels" of ships (finally), we could have the Arliou come in and save the Flagship in a battle saucer or something. That could be their introduction to us?

Brad, perhaps start the intro video with a news broadcast that fleshes out the history of Star Control and the Lexites, explaining it in brief with shots of Star Control promotional material, concept art of a finished station in orbit, etc. Mention the Star Control flagship beginning trial flights soon or something? Then transition to the Starbase now (perhaps adding "flashes" from construction along the outside -- some of the station does already look incomplete, and it
