Went down town shopping and as usual called into the local game store. I noticed that there were no copies of Demigod on the shelves. So I asked the guy behind the bench why was this so? He typed and clicked on his computer to find out what was going on. "Oh there are 66 copies at the warehouse, so i doubt that we will get any in soon" Why not? "Well they supply over 350 stores and we are not as big as others." Can't you just order some in? "No.

I do think Demigod is having a bad time down here in OZ. I have only seen two copies at EB games for well over a month and thats at the two shops we have. All the gamers i know don't want to buy it, with pantheon and ranking system not working who can blame them. A lot of Internet players go on word of mouth and once someone gets a bad experience they let all their buddys know. At the moment I only have a game now and then. I usually look if there are any Aust games going and if not i

The first game is always the most difficult to write up. Well done. Java is a good language to learn how to program with OOP, keep with it. You can always move to something faster down the track. Have fun !!!!

Q: How are sales? A: Mixed. Digital sales are great. Retail sales need work. We are hoping word of mouth on the game will encourage people to go to their local retailer and pick up the game. I have noticed that the local computer game shops don't have Demigod on the shelves. You might want to get onto Atari in Australia Frogboy.

Droopyv you should not try to get Demigod going on Ubuntu unless you know what you are doing. Its to easy to bugger up your distro. I don't think anyone has been able to get impulse up an running, due to the fact it needs ie7 and .net. Demigod on Linux is unstable and takes quite a bit of work to get up and running. Can be done with wine ... http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=16363&iTestingId=40011 With virtualization, 3D acceleration has a lot to be desired and after it takes away cpu, ram, video memory is it worth it? You will need a good system.I would hate to think what it would do to your sim speed. Better off using a dual boot.

Has anyone play this game. I have just read the info on Impulse and it sounds a lot like Elite. One of the best games of the 80's, played it to death. Just wondering how they compare to each other.

(I do need a good kick now and then) Sorry about that canadakiller, I think it was the shock of someone buying 6 games in a day. I am way to fussy. Mind you, I do have the games you have bought and they are all good ... keep a look out for Elemental down the track. Injoy [e digicons]:dur:[/e]

So Deepjay are you saying that ai is worth playing with. [e digicons]O:)[/e] (just kidding) I don't think ragequitting would be such an issue if the ai was good, as long as you can have a good game and a chance to win.

I would suggest you wait for the international proxies. This has been a issue with oz players for some time. As for the ISP, I am with Bigpond and if it is a problem at the ISP level their are going to be a lot of disappointed Australian players. Bigpond is by far the biggest ISP.

There is a few of these posts going around. Ever notice its from players who have "mastered" the game and then they lose because someone plays differently.
