Ahh ... the magical 1.01 patch, for some reason i keep thinking about Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail!!!. Its taking (what seem to be) awhile ... but it is going to be good [e digicons]:grin:[/e] .
I think this applys to a lot of other programs not just DG, programs just love fighting over Bandwidth. I firewall everything but DG when playing.
yep firefox on vista 64 is fine, as Vyperxxx says check your plugins. Script plugins might be the worry.
The same thing happens to me. At times i can go into a 3v3 no probs at all. Other times i get stuck with a player!! It seems to be the same players over and over again,in custom games as well. Frustrating is the word for it.

Its a strange thing. I am in the same boat, there are just some people i can't connect to. You would think an Aussie could connect to another Aussie with an Australian host. The problem is if you are there first, they can't get into the lobby,if you leave and come back they are in and you can't connect??? .... even though you or him can connect to the same players in the lobby. Project Looking Glass made by Sun for Linux ... Looks great and all 3D I think Compiz is based on it, although Compiz feels 3D I am not sure how 3D it is. The wobbly windows are a lot of fun just crank up the settings and when you touch them, the will shake off the screen. Joining a custom game the other night ... the usual thing happen, connect to 4 other players a long time to the 5th(if ever). I decided to check out the ports that DG open up when i go into a lobby. 6073 ... the host 6112 ... the new super fast lobby system :) then 50392,50393,50394 ... etc ?????? Is it normal for DG to use dynamic ports to connect to players, I thought we open up the ports 6100-6200 so we can use them to connect.

After buying galciv2 and sins, two really good games, I did not hesitate to buy demigod. My experience in playing the game has been fun but very frustrating, I have yet to connect to more than 2 other players :( . But I am quite happy to wait until all the problems have been iron out.
