solved by disabling per pixel skinning in WB. Lars

is a WFX issue in fact. [e digicons][/e] Solved by disabling transparent menus although I liked them when they worked. Lars
WBui.dll is file which just controled Windowblinds setting showing on the Apearance tab
Hmm, I got pure Windows 98 windows after unregistering WBui.dll even when I reapplied a WB skin and even when the Windows Theme service was running.
Thanks, following your suggestion the issue hasn't occured in 5 boots now. If the issue occurs again and I remember this post and have time to reply, I will update it!
Thanks, I prefer having the cake. Unregistering wbui.dll also means having no skinned windows - not only having no display settings integration. For those interested: omitting the /u in above command registers the dll again. The WPO X4 "theme" isn't worth it, having seen it now I prefer the legacy theme actually :-) Thanks again!
Hi, is it possible to override WBs disabling of WPO theme support? Thanks, Lars
I don't have Live Mesh and I'm not aware of any application which could do so. Also it occurs once after the boot only (but after every boot as stated already :-( ).
Hi, it's a Radeon Xpress 1100 in an Acer laptop using the 8.11 Catalyst currently.
Have you updated to the latest driver?
I have, I'm running the 8.10 Catalyst drivers and the latest DirectX 9 updates. I don't experience other graphic issues besides the few ones with sd apps I mentioned in the forum.
clean install of Diamond skin: sort of: I forgot to delete the folder but I checked that all files were newly created on reinstallation. Thanks, I am currently writing a ticket to support.!
Hi, cleanly reinstalling WB is what I already did following a suggestion in my other post. I hoped Stardock cares for issues posted here too. I didn't want to bother their -excellent as far as my previous requests are concerned- support but I may do so now. Thanks!
Hi, it's like the one below but it can be any window like the control panel ...: the first opened window after a boot is smaller than when it was last opened. Also there are black border remnants drawn inside the window. by "smaller" I refer to there being less space to display the windows content: it's not that the window is squeezed. I also use WindowFX 3.
Hello, sometimes I find 2 wifi icons in my dock I use for displaying the system tray. I don't have a 2nd wifi card and clicking the icon makes it go away. What is disturbing is that I have tracked down Explorer hang issues on logoff to there being 2 wifi icons: if there are, Explorer and a couple of other apps don't react on shutdown, if there aren't 2 icons: no hang. <img src="http://www.alice-dsl.net/l.hansen/OD_two_wifi_icons_systray.png"
Thanks! reinstalling may have corrected the issue! I didn't have 2 Diamond skins (or better I have but one is a Vista one) but I have MyColors installed and my WB installation didn't verify correctly. The only issue remaining is variant 6 from the screenshots above. I'll post again here if I find the issue to be not rectified after all. Thanks again, ShelbyGT! edit: variant 2 just came back. Maybe this is bc Impulse uses its own skin overriding Diamond?
Hi, this is an old issue I remember having had with Windows Live applications and Windows Defender back when I used Vista x64. Now it occurs with Windows XP: the size of the very first opened window after a boot is smaller than it was when I last opened it. After some time without correction the window has shrunk to nothing. I'd like to see this being corrected :-) WindowBlinds version : WindowBlinds 6.3 (build 68 x86) WindowBlinds is in
Hi, an issue I experience since using WB and the Diamond skin: sometimes the context menus or the window menus are black. Here are screenshots: 1 context menus are black sometimes 2 sometimes they get black when an entry is hovered over with the mouse, particularly likely to get in Impulse </
Thanks Zubaz! I'm downloading and I'll have a look. Lars
Hello, there is a comfort feature not available in Windows I often have a use for: access to a recently launched shortcut. Windows XP start menu is nice but it shows the most often used applications. I need a pane where I can select the last started application for example. I often access an application from the start menu and close it after use thinking I won't need it anymore and bc I want to save system resoruces only to find me starting it over and over again. It doesn't warrant a
you might try opening WB configuration and see if adjusting the Tranaparency and Blur setting has any effect.
Hi, I didn't try this. I am cautious when changing a setting is involved, as I don't want registry entries to be written when the default value can be used and things like that. In this case I think changing a window frame element property won't help when the whole frame isn't shown. Thanks though! Lars
Hi, thanks for the tip, yet it doesn't persuade WPO. I installed the free SkinStudio and used the default new skin as the per-application set skin (thanks again for this hint, yet this option and the other options apply to WB skinning WPO thus WPOs theme would be overridden even if it used the non-legacy theme). WP5.1 mode is WPOs WordPerefct 5.1 mode which make WPO looks (and behave) just like the DOS version WP 5.1 :-) <img src="http://www.alice-dsl.net/l.hansen/WPO_
Hi, thanks for your suggestions. I already tried using the per-application setting and disabled skinning (that's the condition the first screenshot was taken under). WPO X4 still uses the legacy theme only and tells me that it needs the WindowsXP theme set in the display properties which isn't, it's the WB skin set in general.
Hello, is it possible to turn off or remove the integration of WB settings into the display settings Desktop->right click context menu->Settings->Customize (translated from German). Or is it possible to have "Windows XP" listed there as the current style despite the integration being active and WB using a different skin (such as Diamond). Corel WordPerfectOffice X4 uses the legacy theme only because it doesn't find the Windows XP theme. <img src="http://www.al
Hello again, I'm running WindowFX 3.1 on Windows XP SP3 32-bit on a Turion64 2 GHz single-core cpu laptop with an ATi Radeon Xpress 1100. Compiz effects on Linux run super-smoothly on this laptop both with the fglrx driver (yes, the Xpress 1100/1150 is supported) and the radeon driver. Comparing Compiz "swaying" windows effect with WindowFXs, Compiz is far superior. WindowFXs effect doesn't render smoothly at all unfortunately. <
Thanks! (I searched for 'flash 10' using the search box in the top right corner and got 0 results.)
