You know what? Starcraft 2 will even have a better and more powerfull editor than warcraft 3 (thats confirmed). You can change ANYTHING with it...textures, scripts, sounds, modells...just everything. So we will get it all...DOTA, Towerdefenses and so on for starcraft 2
The editor is what makes this game an auto-buy for me. I almost never played normal WC3 multiplayer, instead I played the RPG maps with my friends(love th
EDIT: the ruling was made on an existing somewhat new law. As prior to that law it would not be possibly to convict them for such a crime. There was much debate as to what actual information was stored on piratebays servers as the judge wanted to ascertain that without the hash stored on pb's servers the transfers would not be possibly. Without using someone else's torrent or some other mean offcource. But no beyond that the court was not very interested in the technology. For the ben
But my NWN2 updates, for each individual disk (3 total), took at least an hour and 30 minutes for EACH DISK.
What do you mean 'for each disk'? You can install all three then do the update in one go. Or do mean that it took over 4.5 hours and you divided the time the number of disks? I know the reason SoZ takes so long to update, they somehow managed to make its install delete one of the key files for the MotB campaign(Something like 200 to300

Ideally have a full field of 6 mines already set up that you can retreat over. If you have the mine ability ready to use by the time he has triggered at least 3 then toss them out into his path, that is a potential of 9 mines hitting him within less than 2 seconds. If you have good speed and dps then you should be able to get him while he is retreating, if you can't keep up or he gets into his base then snipe. Rinse and repeat for all future encounters.

Nice post Malanthor. I have to say I assumed the Pirate Bay would get off due to the TOTAL incompentence of the prosecution. Such as on day 7, this [

Rook being the way he is now is much better than what he was like in the beta. Hammer Slam had a much larger AOE, was not targeted on the ground but on Demigods(basically imposible to avoid), comboing a Boulder Roll with a Hammer Slam was just about an insta-gib(Or close enough that it didn't matter). Plus there was the 'Snipe Bounce' problem that made Rook the bane of Regulus players. I think it is safe to say that all the largest balance problems were found in th

This brings me back to beta 2 when the mine cap was 12 . . . . On one hand I can see why they reduced it, on the other hand I miss killing full health rooks with ease(set up all 12, stand in front of them, then used the teleport cloak to get behind them right before the rook was in range to hit me). Here is something to add: Demolition Time! Towers and other structures trigger mines a short time after they are placed. At higher levels targeting t
This game runs "ok" but i'd say FPS is a bit low if I could see it.
So you think the FPS is low, but you don't know what it is? Try installing the demo of Fraps, it has a FPS display while a game is running. Also, if you don't like how ir runs, there is always the option to turn your settings down. After all games are about gameplay first and graphics second. Just to be sure, you do have the latest drivers right?

This is what concerned me the most:
“This will cause a flood of court cases. Against all the ISPs. Because if these guys assisted in copyright infringements, then the ISPs also did. This will have huge consequences. The entire development of broadband may be stalled.”
Can anyone with knowledge of law say if that statement is true? Also, did the court take intent into account in their decision? As all I can find is:
“The cou

Frogboy does a lot. I remember one time I saw him giving advice on the 24th of December. Plus the time he adimited that he worked on an update to GCII when he was supposed to be spending time with his family. Persionaly I experianced his help when we had the whole unable to log in problem during the beta that resulted from ordering Demigod with 2 different e-mails(or in my case using the gift option to bill one address and send the game to my Impulse address - thinking a

I think the problem is that Demigod does a check for updates when it is launched, as it checks the same server used to play the result is pirates having a negative effect on legal users. The pirates can't play online, put together all the small checks they make add up.
Do you mean that they continually target a specific ship type till they are gone? then they attack another type?
Yes, if the player gives the ships a target they will continue to attack all enemy ships of the same type as the target until there are none left. After that the player can give them another order, or let the default auto-attack take over again. Note that after the player gives the inital attack order they don'
Basically a similar thing happened with Hellgate and the game died before they could fix it
Hellgate is not a good example for several reasons. One is that Flagship had no idea how to run a good company(who ever thought of mixing free play, subsription play, and a big one time fee needs to smacked, hard). The second is not having enough for subscription people and founders at the start to justify it(they should have held off on the founders offer and subsrip

It would be nice if Pirate ships got upgraded based on how much bounty the pirates get. Say 1% boost to hull and weapon damage every 2-4 thousand credits. What pirates need is a ship that diverts all income from extractors/refineries/trade ports within a certain distance around it(or an activated ability that targets one strucutre and lasts until the ship is destroyed).

Also there is the issue of some ISPs filtering/blocking peer to peer, so that could be a problem. Plus the whole 'beta server overload' problem(stupid Gamestop) so Stardock had to put the main servers up under pressure. Check out some of the posts by Frogboy and you can see the problems caused by Gamestop's early release. Would it have been perfect if everything had gone as planned, no. But it would have been a lot better.

[reply]-This game should have been held back one week to one month
That option went out the window when Gamestop released early. I think that if it had been only people from the beta playing on the 13th then Stardock would have been able to focus on fixing problems rather than server issues. Beta people only ->beta servers not overloaded -> more demigod played and bugs/problems found Plus. Stardock would have been able to set up the main servers wit
I'm assuming Gamestop would refuse to sign a penalty clause on breaking street dates
The solution is to make the penalty clause a requirement for every retailer who wants to release a Stardock published game on the release date. The key part is making it a requirement for ALL retailers, not just Gamespot. Then those that do sign the penalty clause will get a headstart on selling over those who don't. They don't
Shipping the game right before release sets up a lot of problems. If the shipment arrives late or gets delayed (because that never happens), then the release date magically gets bumped from the "12th" to the "17th" for example.
Well, it would only be Gamestop that gets the shipment last minute. Given their history of breaking street dates, I really don't care that much if they alone have to push back the date they release a game. Also, ventin
