Yeah, you're right about MoO 2, but I was talking about MoO 1 . I preferred MoO 1 over MoO 2 research system. And I'm with you on the MoO 3 system, very closed box, like pretty much everything in that game (looks at case gathering dust on shelf, next to recently used MoO2 and MoO1 CDs.....).
Wow I haven't played MOO1 is forever. I don't recall it being on CD I could of swore it was on floppies.

Demolishing any resource building removes the resource that was there.
eg of MoO system: you research the construction topic and recieve "industry 5". The game then randomly picks 1-3 of the next level technologies to make available in the construction topic. If it does not select "industry 6", it will not be picked later on, ever. It cannot be researched. However, any previously unlocked contrustion techs can be researched, for the research cost it started with. [/quot

Well if we do go down the route of Racial Differences as well as Faction Differences I think that it should work towards limiting those options to things that makes sense. After all a lot of the stereo types that exist in the world today are based mainly on culture. For example one group is not better with math and electronics then another but because they have high educational values it seems like all the people of this "type" are tech heads. So basically racial bonuses should be thi
This seems like adding complexity for complexity's sake. Having to manage Food & Water instead of just food. Plus the whole different essence cost approach.
One of the problems with AoW was that in multiplayer everyone rushed to get the high level units ignoring the use of the low level units because they were well useless, unless you are playing low level as a side rule. I tend to play the Peaceful City Builder/Tech Rusher route while maintaining enough forces for a decent defense to hold off rushes. Often time in gam

Yea I saw that. I was wondering did they patch to run better on Vista/Win7? Or is it the typical 1.31 Patch version? I ask cause I was thinking of digging MoM out of my closest and simply downloading the patch. But I know people have had trouble getting old DOS games to work and needed to use DOS Box. If they have patched it to run better on newer OS it could be worth getting. For those who never played it though and don't have a copy I recommend buying it. It's a great game.<
The SOV died in the city. I don't recall seeing an AI ever flee. Even though he died defending the city he still had other cities at his disposal. The save game has my army parked right out his city so in 1 turn it should fall if attacked. Everytime I load it and attack the city killing thier SOV it says the empire fell on the turn notes and the diplomacy screen no longer shows them. Yet the other cities they control remain. I went back and took some Screenshots to show what I
One reason might simply be that each unit will be an entity unto itself. Currently, having the Sov and Hero's level is not overly problematic. I have had a gang level 3 units after one fight. Click click +++++ etc. No sweat. Now multiply that by 100X or way more. The garden, wheat farm, orchard, and beehives are in the game so I don't see a problem with additional ones. The game is suppose to be very mod freely and adding a new resource shouldn't
Originally I noticed that only your SOV and hired heroes earn XP but your other units didn't. So I reported it as a "bug" which got a reply that trained units were cannon fodder and not suppose to earn XP. But honestly I think this is a mistake as a lot of TBS games have your units become more experienced the more they fight. Most are simply Normal/Veteran/Elite which is fine as it adds another interesting layer to the game by helping reward players who focus more on strategy and keeping thei
