Well this has got to be a first! Of all the years of playing computer games and waiting on patches for this or that, I can't recall a single time that a company stated ahead of time when a patch will be released and actually did so on that date......until now:) Great job guys!!! Sabre21

I would have to agree with the original poster on this one. Multi-player in strategy based games anymore these days is pretty much a given. I look at the games produced by Matrix, Shrapnell, Paradox and a host of others and look what you find..all multiplayer. Whether it's play by email, Lan, or hotseat..it's there. Even though I play single player most of the time, having an mp option extends the life of the game for me and many thousands of others. I thought it was a bit odd that G

I loaded the game to see how the map was progressing and found that some of the star colors were changed. I reloaded the editor only to find that when I tried to select one of the affected stars I got the same access viloation as I indicated above. Now whats odd is I quit out of the editor, then downloaded your latest version and ran it again. This time the stars are back to the original color I set both in game and in the editor. I don't ge

Nice job Exzachly:) Even though there weren't any instructions the editor was pretty easy to figure out. Just to add a few hints to those that haven't figured it out yet, once you open up a map, whether new or editing an existing one, simple double left click on any spot on the map and a window opens giving a choice of options to place..like a star, planet, star system, anomoly, ship, etc. Once you select an item for p

I appreciate the effort you have put in to this. I had no problem with the download, it took maybe 20 seconds at most. Thanks Sabre

Well..nice job! This is exactly what I was looking for. You can add me to the growing list of those interested in this editor. I knew eventually someone with the know-how would do this...it was just a matter of time. Sabre21 PS: Where will this be posted at so we can download it? Thanks again for the good work.

As a preferential option someone could turn on or off in the Game option section is what I was looking for. I know there would be those that wouldn't want it. But as the game progresses, and the turns become longer and longer, and inadvertant click on the turn tab could be very frustrating. If this isn't doable, then please reduce the size of the area that activates the turn tab. Right now it extends well beyond the border of the turn tab into the mini map and trying to click an are

17) How about having a line on the planetary screen that shows what type of bonus that planet may have got when first colonized. I can't figure out which planet might have what from what is currently displayed. For instance, if I get a planet that has a 44% research or production or starship bonus, I would like to see that. Right now I am resorting to keeping track on a piece of paper. Sabre21

Is it to late to ask for an option that would pop a window up confirming the next turn when the TURN tab is clicked? Too many times now I have inadvertantly advanced a turn when trying to click a secyor on the mini map. Sabre21

I'm still getting a CTD when I'm playing the game, press ESC and reload a previous turn of the same game. In 4c if I did this, the same game file grew to some pretty large sizes each time this would occur eventually crashing the game. In 4d, the crashing occurs after the first or second reload. I am using a P4 3.4 with 2 gigs of ram and an ATI X800 256 video card all with current drivers. Sabre21

There is a similar problem I ran into, but it was reloading a save game onto itself. If you are playing the game and for what ever reason you decide to reload the last save, the game makes extra copies of some of the files and adds them to the existing game file. Then the next time it happens it does it again. At one point I had a save game file over 26 megs in the 4c beta. I tested thios out in 4d and it is even worse. I play on a gigantic map that has a starting file of around 8 meg

I have to agree with the OP on this one. The term "planetary defense" just makes no sense. If the purpose of this device is to improve coordination among orbiting ships, then it is really a Fleet Operations Center...a far more descriptive term. Planetary Defense has the connatation of consisting of some form of ground based or orbital weapons platform or it could also be fighters. I was hoping that building a military starbase would assist a planet but I gather that it only can defend

Will Minor races be unique from the major races and each other in the final release? In one game I tried I had 4 minor races appear near my home planet and they all had the same Altarian picture. Sabre21

I have a couple questions pertaining to the various planetary bonuses that you could end up with. I'm not sure what else they are called. Anyways, do these things even work yet? Like if you get a 50% starship bonus, what improvement to a starship is that? Is it in hit points or is it nothing more than a sped up production line? The other big question is what is the downside to some of these bonuses. Take for example the extermination of all them bugs, what is the negative i

I have my setup at gigantic and abundant and have four 26 planets in the game I'm currently playing along with numerous 18's, 17's, and 16's. In fact one of the 26's got a 50% planetary bonus for tiles and ended up as a 39. Sabre21

I have done more testing on the growing savegame file. See the notes on the other thread (Multiplayer cheat) I originally started this on. This was a duplicate thread when I thought the original never posted. Sabre21
