ObjectDock submit rejected!!!

ObjectDock submit rejected!!!

I uploaded some of my very first works, the ObjectDock icons, all in 128x128 PNG. Then I waited. And today I received an email telling me that my uploads were all rejected The reason was, as they said, file must be in ZIP format, when I uploaded pure PNG. But how about this guy?

[Note: link died, as was taken care of ^_^]
His work is in PNG, not zipped.
I'm totally discouraged. Please help!

Another thing is....any icon can be converted to a png in the blink of an eye...so as far as I'm concerned they are one in the same to some extent...the only difference being file size and extension name.

In addition to that in the Misc Icon library I have often seen pngs come packaged along with icons.

But basically...no one else should even worry about it since I don't see this changing any time soon...its just a gripe I've had for some time now. At his point I'm contemplating just moving my docks out of Object'Icon'Dock to my gallery, and if the powers that be ever make an actual library for Object"Dock" then I'd move them in there.

The ObjectDock library should probably just be for docklets and ObjectDock backgrounds. That will make things a little easier to find... Maybe shunt the png's into Graphics, or a new library?

I have used several dock programs, and all use png...I stopped using other programs, well, cause, why have them when you've found the best OBJECTDOCK!
so yes, I agree with this png icon library idea...sounds good to me
and, by the way, Who let Po' in here anyhow!

Well...maybe one day...we can dream anyway!

Well I guess this idea is once again dead in the water.

Well then...I have a few more submissions I'm waiting to upload and then that will be it until the ObjectDock library gets the same respect as the other libraries. I'm just tired of docks & docklets getting buried by icons/pngs that already have they're own library. I will continue making docks, because I enjoy doing them, but I won't be uploading them anymore until ObjectDock gets its own library once and for all.

Why don't you drop an e-mail to Zoomba with your thoughts. He listens

I'll give it a shot Fuzzy...thanks for the thought.

I understand your frustration, but as been said several times...... until something changes, there is no other library for PNG dock icons. They are not allowed in the Misc Icon library. And come to think of it, the Misc Icons library didn't exist until long after the ObjectDock library.

I've said it before, the Misc Icons section was meant for additional add-on packages for Icon Packager. Unfortunately the excellent 'icon a day' series opened the floodgates for people uploading single icons.

The Object Dock section was for all OD related items. No-one could foresee the huge number of icon uploads we currently get.

The whole thing has got messy and blurred. It's up to the 'powers that be' to sort it out

And what makes it even worse is when people are uploading icons that should clearly be packaged rather than uploading 20 or more icons with the same theme or several versions of the same icon.

But I kind of doubt this will get sorted out...its been brought up several times and then the subject just dies.

And as I go through my gallery of docks..the farther back they go I can see the less they are seen and downloaded because people either don't know they are there or they get tired of having to wade through all the icons just to find docks.

If the powers that be would be kind enough to create a dock library I could just move everything over to that...but like I said...I doubt it will happen. Then again...maybe someone will surprise me...who knows.

That about sums it up.

So you're not alone with this, Giz ....you can put me down as being in 100% agreement with you.

I'd love to see a separate library just for docks, for the simple reason that I..

get tired of having to wade through all the icons just to find docks.

Though I did know all of your's were there ...got just about all of 'em

Thanks Eric! Its good to have support! And I'm glad to know you got most of them! Cool!

again, I sympathize, Giz and wish I knew an answer...since basically it seems that me, and my kind (the requested icon thread/icon a day folks) are the ones who cause your problem here...I clearly see the problem, and sincerely hope you do NOT stop uploading your awesome docks...I mean, where would folks hang my icons if not for your work

And me... Please don't stop putting them up - they're pretty much the only reason I look in that library.

Maybe if we start a petition... Ah, I just bookmark WebGizmo's home page!

This will be continued and ended in my original posts of this subject which was posted almost a year ago. WWW Link

Gizmos i think you should definitely keep submitting to the OD Library and bringing up this subject, even if the ALMIGHTY SUPER WIZOP thinks your beating a dead horse!

Well Skinhit...While I certainly appreciate your input...its obviously what the powers that be think about this subject. The link in the post above yours was posted almost a year ago and quickly forgotten.

So this power that be (Me) must do something to make sure the things I created are not a casualty of not caring about what happens in the libraries. I've brought this up several times and Fuzzy is right...no point in beating a dead horse...obviously no one cares other than the people that use the docks...and I will make sure...whatever my final decision...that they know where to find them.

As of now, I know where. Betcha some good comes of this thread and related one(s). Object Dock Plus is indeed alive and well, thanks to everyone involved. Waiting to see maybe "Docks" category, so I can get just backgrounds or just .pngs (or .icos) when I want. btw, thanks for Battlefield, WG. Thanks to Hippy first. Great theme!!
