With the Fences 6 Public Beta, we are creating this thread so that users can report any observed issues.  

Obtaining the product

Object Desktop members can get the release from within Object Desktop Manager 

Individual purchases (as well as Object Desktop Members) can also be obtained from your account page: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products

Reporting an issue

Please include the following for anything found:

  • Exact Windows version \ build (winver.exe)

  • Detailed steps to recreate the issue seen

  • Screenshots and videos are very helpful.  Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive service (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube), with a shared link included in your post.  Images can be copied and pasted directly into a post.

  • If there are specific apps that the app does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions.  If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.

If you are having troubles the first step is to verify your settings are correct

1.You will want to make sure you have do in fact have the new "tabs" option in settings and that it is "enabled". (In my screen shot I went a step further and turned off "require confirmation before creating new tabs" to make creating tabs even more easy.

2. These are two un-tabbed fences. The Fences do not need to be new, they can be already formed old fences as well. In my example, you will see the white box form "Drop to create tab group" that is the prompt you need to see for the two fences to be close enough aligned before dropping fence 1 with fence 2 to create a new tabbed group

No there is no tab if you only have one. The tabs only appear when you have two or more Fences grouped.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. I can not reproduce your issue. Need more informations.

 

    1. Windows 10 or 11? Also need its full version and OS Build number. Please use Winver.exe to get these.

 

    1. Fences full version number.

 

    1. Post a video to any video sharing site and share its link here, on this issue would help us understand it greatly.

2) Fences 6 Beta 1 (v5.9.8.9)
3) Ill try to get a video, its pretty intermittent, sometimes reboot fixes it, sometimes not. To add to the issue I noticed today my "Personalize" context menu entry started opening the fences application window, another time it acted as though i clicked delete fence, definitely something fishy going on.

Look like your issue is unique to your system. Please start your own new thread, so we can help you from there.

Good news - I can create new fences with Fences 6.

Bad news - I had to uninstall Windows Deskscapes 11.

I wonder if anyone has this combination of software successfully working for them.

I do have Fences 6 and Deskscapes 11 running in my Windows 10 Box. No issue. Just that I can't test it on my Virtual Windows 11 box since the virtual graphics driver not good enough to run Deskscapes animation wallpaper in VM environment.
