I have added Vivaldi to my exception list and it does not show the Groupy tab nor allow me to group Vivaldi windows.

Make sure you added Vivaldi from this location:

"C:\Users\"your User folder"\AppData\Local\Vivaldi\Application\vivaldi.exe"

Also, make sure you turn off this setting.

thanks but not applicable to me.

1. My vivaldi application is not in 'appdata' of my user folder. it's in my program files. Only user data are present in the app data directory.

2. You told me to turn off that setting about mouse over. But I need that. I don't like to disable it because I use it a lot.

3. The thing is, sometimes the exclusion feature works. sometimes it doesn't. at the time of writing this, it works. But time by time it doesn't. That's not a good behavior.

But thanks for trying to help.

There seems to be a bug where the exclusion feature isn't applying to the ungrouped Groupy bar.  We will be resolving this in the next update.

If it is this problem you cannot ever group it, is that the case here?

Nuts, this was the whole reason I bought Groupy in the first place (to group all my chat apps) - I was hoping this would be fixed/resolved/hacked in version 2 :(

We can certainly look to see if there is anything we can do.

But apps built with the buggy version of the electron framework should update to a fixed release really as the bug has other consequences too without Groupy.

My taskbar is stuck everytime Hyper-V Manager is envolved. Have to restart explorer from task-manager.

Insider Build here (I know).

What do you mean by stuck?

I can't click anything besides the startbutton. Will do a video ASAP.

It is not Hyper-V. But I am not the only one. Can't say, when or why it happens.

I experience several problems with the beta version. I have a group which loads on boot.

  1. This crashes five or six times a day, and I then have to close all applications in the group before I can relaunch it.
  2. When the group loads, it positions it's window below the rolled-up fences I have at the top of my desktop. I expect it to maximize the window, hiding the rolled-up Fences behind it.
  3. Sometimes the tabs in the group turn semi-transparent, and if I have for instance Chrome open in maximized state with several tabs, I can see the titles of these behind the titles of the tabs belonging to the group.
  4. On one occasion, only part of the client area of one of the member application windows was left after Groupy crashed. This is an editor with several sidebars, some of which disappeared during the crash.

I am afraid these problems are harder to live with than loading all the applications manually. Can I temporarily revert to the old version, which never misbehaved?

Best wishes,

Henrik

Doesn't work with File Explorer as expected, when tried to load File Explorer group, I got error message:

Then it loaded one tab instead of several in the group.

Also, it gets stuck, I cannot open the same folder in more than one tab, really annoying since it worked on regular Explorer with no groupy.

What explorer folders did you save in the group as thats not exactly a normal explorer path!

When running Groupy 2 (beta 1) with the group maximized, it's very difficult to distinguish between inactive and active tabs.

A few possible solutions:

1. Let the user select a color for the active tab.

2. Extend the Accent color functionality allowing the user to pick an accent color for the active tab.

3. Create more distinction between with the default color scheme.

This is very low priority and I don't seriously care, but thought that I would mention it in case you wanted to make it consistent.

Groupy 2 mixes the British spelling colour and the US spelling color on the same machine.  Even on the same window.

See attached images.

Give me back my rectangular tabs option without any rounding.

Which OS are you on?

Hi, thanks for Groupy 2, it works well for me on Windows 11. However, I noticed that it seems to break "Show this window on all desktops".

Situation: I have windowA and windowB grouped together. I select "show this window on all desktops" for windowA. This work for now, I can switch desktops and it always shows. However, when I now change to windowB (in the same group), then windowA looses the "show this window on all desktops" flag and it will stay on the current desktop only.

Hope it can get fixed. This worked fine with the latest version of Groupy 1.5.

Are you using the combined taskbar option in Groupy?

Thanks for the reply. I didn't know about this option. I tested it and it seems that in "Show All" and "Show only one combined button" mode, the window will retain its "Show this window on all desktops" feature and in "Show only active window" it will not. That's good to know.

However, when I group windows from multiple desktops together, the group will still disappear when I click on a window from another desktop. But at least when I go to that desktop, the "show on all desktops" window will still be in the group and remain visible this way.

Entire taskbar is unresponsive when used in combination with start11. Basically useless.

It would be very helpful if someone could do the following if you are encountering a problem with the Start11 taskbar hanging with Groupy 2.

When you hit the hang open up taskmanager (ctrl-alt-del will do so), go to processes page, find explorer and right click and pick Create memory dump file.  Please also right click again and pick the Analyse Wait chain option and post a screenshot of what that shows too.

Also please upload the dmp file somewhere and either PM me with the link or post a link on the forums again.

Again this is ONLY when the taskbar buttons appear to be hung.  Doing this without a hang wouldn't help.

Now I cannot re-enable groupy via the toggle after disabling it. Explorer immediately crashes and it disables itself again. Dump included below.

I have the error again after re-installing WindowBlinds (had it uninstalled during the error-free time). Dump via PM.

Also when it stops responding, is that responding to the mouse, or responding entirely so not updating to reflect active window etc?

Windows 10 Enterprise x64 22H2 19045.2965

Here are the curves:

The next beta will have an option under advanced UI to make those square.

Only the middle taskbar is unresponding. I can press the startmenu and the tray, but no pinned shortcuts nor running tasks.
