I spoke to creator of StartAllBack. And he's afraid that Stardock is trying to steal his source code because their Start10 / 11 is shity crap.

That sounds salty to me. It must mean stardock is doing something right.

What?

I talk to him about why his startisback an startallback is incompatible with windows blinds. And he answer to me "stardock wants to steal startallback source code and add it to start 11" In my opinion its stupid answer.

What features are you wanting exactly?

I've noticed a slow redraw rate in Microsoft store app titlebars, Like Cribbage Deluxe and Calculator. ^_^

none of this is true. Startisback/startallback has never been supported by stardock since its not original to the operating system. They recoded the original start menu from windows 7 to work on later os systems even though it's been fully removed from the systems to this date. There is no form of code stealing here, stardocks start10/11 has been its own thing. Not as perfect as they should be but work relatively well. Startisback/startallbacl does way more than what start 11 can do atm. It allows for old taskbar behaviors and explorer modifications. None of witch start11 does. It does software related stuff for features such as smaller taskbar icons and uncombined buttons (though this feature makes windows 11s taakbar glitchy. Causing the taskbar buttons to flicker and preview windows popup to not pop up where the button is at.)

What stardock needs to do is add in a option to windowblinds 11 to not skin the taskbar and start menu so that those who do wish to use 3rd party alternatives can do so. Using startallback and windowblinds will result in crashing and weird behaviors. Right now it semi skins the start menu and taskbar from that program but trying to interact with them will cause explorer to restart. Each iteration of windows I getting harder and harder to customize, you can clearly see the customization scene has slowed down considerably. We may eventually get to a point where we won't be able to do this anymore.

Feature request

*Glossy layer feature from windows vista/7.

Would love to see windowblinds add this feature. Lots of cool tricks can be done with it. :D

Whats is dumb ? This stupid russian afraid that Stardock is trying to steal his precious source code. And yes only his tweak works correct on Windows 11 if you want Windows 7 or Windws 8/10 explorer bar.

Why Windows Blinds 11 not work with Explorer Patcher when i enabled Windows 10 taskbar ? on Windows 11 11H2 2262x ?

When i enabled classic taskbar on Explorer Patcher WindowBlinds 11 remove/block taskbar and context menu.

It works fine for me. I do know that if you are using start 11 you have to turn off "let start 11 enhance the taskbar" for it to load the windows 10 taskbar. If you aren't using start 11 that might be the problem as well.

I posted an issue with Calculator titlebar slow loading with any skin. I hope WB 11 authors are aware and it didn't get lost in the works. This is on windows 11 pro latest build.

Nice work around but they still need to fix the issue with new calc after all it's still a bug.

...use normal classic calculator from Win8/7...
Windows 7?! 3.1 more like! ->Otvdm app in case you're wondering

First bug:

WindowBlinds 11 keeps changing desktop background color. When I switch to black background color and restart Windows, WB changes theme color to default theme.

Second bug:

In Windows 11 when I change taskbar to classic (via Explorer Patcher) WindowBlinds 11 block/removes taskbar, context menu and menu start. Strange because WB10 is compatible with Explorer Patcher.

Three bug:

In Windows 11 2262x.8xx WB not skining taskbar, only start orb is from WB theme. Yes its Insider Beta but soon this update wil be in RP and RTM channel.

Bug?

When WindowBlinds is installed i have to click on the hidden taskbar for it to expand . When Start 11 alone installed it works correctly when I mouse over it expands. I do not see any setting that would cause this in WindowBlinds.

Most ugly thing I have seen for a while. ;-)

This is the old Windows calculator linked above. I prefer this one any day over the Windows 10/11 one.
