Now if only my work internet wouldn't block the starcontrol.com domain, labeling it as "Porn"

This web page is blocked because it violates network policy.
If you have any questions, Please contact your network administrator.

Host:starcontrol.com

URL:http://starcontrol.com/

Reason:Pornography - Pornography sites

How am I supposed to fix that!!

We have are investigating that as well. Some troll decided to submit it as porn.

Thank goodness, because writing posts on my cell is awful!

BTW how can I update my avatar to add the founders badges?

Founders badges are tied to your account. Give them time to update after purchasing.

Quoting Kralizec9,

Quoting Vaelzad,

Anything Founder's related must stay in the Founder's forums as it is all under NDA.

Just want to clarify that, when signing up for the founders program it said please talk about it.  Just don't share pictures/videos. Your statement and that are at odds and its confusing.

Quote from the NDA: "By purchasing this product, you agree to not post any screenshots or videos until this product enters public beta. This restriction DOES NOT extend to discussion about the game; feel free to talk about it all you like!"

I'm confirming this with the powers at be right now.

Thanks for checking on this. The sooner its clarified it will likely prevent issues if discussion is to be included in the NDA or not.

Complete this survey to have a chance of being selected.

Any chance they can RESEND the email?  I pressed "delete" on my spam folder, and just before everything disappeared I saw the email stating I had been selected.  Sigh... too late, it's gone, can't get it back from my webmail account.  :(

Was the selection process random?

Nope, the selection process was not Random. It was based on responses to the survey.

Just wanted to chime in to let you know that I am super excited about this! Thanks for running this program.

Mixed feelings about the founders program. I got in! But it costs 100$ to access anything! I would be willing to pay some money to get in true, but 100$? That is crazy! Why are you charging so much money?

Was it really necessary to post the same thing in three different threads?

You get early access, game, all DLC, and all expansions ever made, among other things.

Get people excited, launch a survey to select the founders then tell them they've been selected!  OH JOY!

99$?  Sure, I'll pay 99$ for what *might* be another SC3-type flop.  I'll pay 99$ to see crash before others.  Or I'll pay 99$ to help steer it in the right direction; 99$ for the honor of working for you, sure.

You got a great read on the crowd, there.  So many people are excited about this, you get to really milk the *silly cows*.  99$, that's like 50$ (at most; when you look at the content of today's 50$ games, there'd better be a whole lot more material there was in SC2) +49$ in DLC's??  And absolute faith in Stardock.  I don't say you can't pull it off, but there's risk.  Just look at Creative Assembly and Rome 2.  Planned DLC's, always a big plus.

Early access is great, but usually, the "privilege" compensates for the risk.  Now it sounds like you evaluate there's no such risk.

Seriously, I'm disappointed, to say the least.  Maybe I would've bet some money on you, but this "YOU WON A CRUISE IN THE BAHAMAS!"-type approach + 99$ asking price?  It's a sad, sad joke.  You deserve all the *jumping in front* in the world.

This is an awful start, but I still wish you the best.

@oghla

Maybe you are right, maybe not. We will know it in 1 - 2 years.

And my opinion: No risk - no fun ^_^

I feel like maybe there was some confusion about what a founders program is - if you've followed stardock it might be more familiar (though this was the first I was interested in) but this was a game I'd definitely kickstart (or something similar) and the rewards are also similar. This may be a favorite property for many of us but it's definitely not a well known one to everyone, a cash cow franchise or a gigantic production company. I'm happy to give them my support and the price tag is worth it - a new star control after all these years seemed like a dream that might never happen.

Received my email today and signed up. So looking forward to this. And as others had said don't worry if you haven't received email yet still plenty of time !

The rambling incoherence of your post is shocking and awe-inspiring at the same time. Half the time I couldn't tell if you were mad or happy or just plain mad.

Anyway, would you mind seeing yourself out? There's no reason to post pointless flaming messages on the day after most of us are excited out of our minds, our dreams coming true after 20+ years of waiting. The chance to not only play a new Star Control game, but to actually ALTER the course of its destiny with our own input... and even getting to name a planet that we'll then get to visit - that's worth one-hundred-ninety-nine dollars............................. uh, just kidding Stardock! Please don't raise the price!!!!!!!

^ I would gladly pay more if Stardock would throw in a loot crate with posters, toys, a making-of book with concept art, production notes, etc.

Might be out of their area of expertise as this is something usually done only by bigger companies, but I would buy it without any reservations.
