Vasari has zero chance of defeating me if I'm playing TEC loyalist because they have no antistructure units, and bombers don't do even a tenth of the damage.

EDIT: I personally think antistructure units should be removed and bombers should be beefed up. It would help balance a lot. My opinion just in case sins 2 really is being considered.

EDIT: And Please, Please, Please, Dear God Please, use DX12 or Vulkan. It would do so much to help end game lag.

The whole issue can be fixed by using the oxide engine so that each shot and missile is a physical object that can be dodged and in the case of missiles potentially shot down.

It would add so much to the game having flak guns that could intercept anti-structure torps, and for anti-structure torps to be able to be fired at capital ships, but have the chance of missing due to movement and so on.

Plus, making projectile speed actually relevant means it opens up opportunities for weapons balancing without using a rock paper scissors type approach with armor types.

Quoting duby229,

Actually, making it 64 bit and be able to use multi core would help tons more. But DX12 would be nice as well.

Yeah, obviously. If they really did such a bad job defining ints that it would be prohibitive to port to 64bits, then I don't think that is totally urgent. I just find it hard to believe that they in fact did such a bad job., Just find long longs and redefine them as longs. That's really all there is to porting x86 code to x86_64 code. And then projects like OpenMP have existed for a long time now, and require almost no code changes to multithread your project.

Everything I've read about the topic seems like nothing more than excuses. I can't figure out why they would make excuses.

EDIT: The fact is if you don't do stupid things when defining ints, almost all x86 code will compile to 64bits without any modification at all.

Sins 2!  \o/

I see nothing special with this game so no, I would not be interested in another. Product support is also terrible.

One of the best RTS games I've played. With so much lacking in the engine side preventing it from reaching its full potential (lack of 64-bit, linear processing, etc.), it would feel almost criminal for a second to not be created with the great tools like DX12 at our disposal. 100% support a sequel.

So the question here is: Stardock is in a good relation with Ironclad?
if yes they may be working on something.
if not...

then it may never be a Sins2

This is a Job for Stardock to get in contact with Ironclad and Convince them to make a Sequel by putting a lot of money and some love into it.

I think instead of a sins 2 there should be a prequel focusing on the wars referred to in the intro video. The Vasari and the threat they created, the banishing of the deviants before becoming the advent, etc.

Haven't been to the forums in a year or more, but ... my friends and I still have regular SINS parties and would love to see a new, upgraded variant!
