Frogboy said they're adding scenarios to Rebellion.  Does 'Destroy ungodly amount of Advent ships at Kyrene' sound like fun to any one else?

Let's see, original inhabitants of my system, Xenon, then pirates.  So far I'm having a lot better luck with Advent and Vasari societies than regular human societies.

 

Edit: In all fairness though, I've never really had a full fleet in the DS lore anyway.  Just a slight smattering of ships to try to get the job done that get's horribly outgunned when other groups show up.
