Ah, you want the truth?  Politicians never like to confuse issues with truth and facts.  Makes then accountable.  Remember the 3.5 to 5 million jobs in the first two years?  That is now 600,000 by this fall and those will be "created or saved".  Of course no one in any branch of the government or in the private sector as a way to measure "saved" jobs!  We are minus 1.6 million this year so far, but whatever the number come this fall, it will be a victory as the "saved" jobs will make up the shortfall.  So much for truth.

I have been out of work since Novemeber. The job market is tough but things are turning around a bit around here. Fortunately I never lived on credit so I have been able to make ends meet. I am well aware of the manipulation of statistics and it is disgusting. I put into the system for 35 ( been working since I was 8) years yet I took as little as I had to from the system as it is a pride issue with me. Some others that have put absolutely nothing into the sytem, NOTHING, continue to bleed the system and it has to end.

My condo complex used to be a very professional, well upkept neighborhood. Now it is on it's way to a slum. I calculate we spend well over a million dollars a year for my neighbors to hang out on the steps smoking butts all day. They drive nice cars, always have new shoes on, get free healthcare,and booze it up 24/7. It's not supposed to be this way.

I am going to move out of the country and surrender my green card. Then come back as an immigrant and live it up on your dime.

I am not worried about anyone taking work from me as they DO NOT WORK. They have a baby and they are all set.

I'm really upset about having to agree with Ken. I think I almost always do, but I'm sick of it. Say something I can disagree with, already!   

 

Why don't you report it? When I run up against it in my practices, I get rid of the patient, and report what I've discovered. Seems to me you could do that as well. It's your responsibility.

Glad to hear that.  Please note however, that the 834Billion stimulus package only spent about 25billion so far (remeber all the shovel ready projects that would happen right away? Hmmmmm).  It would be great if we could just bank the unspent funds and let the economy do its thing.  But it was never about that, it was just a matter of using economic fear(remember the Bush people accused of using fear?) to get the spending agenda through.  Just one fellow's opinion.

Aaah , that's the problem. There is nothing to report and I have tried. They simply know how to abuse the system and it is the only thing they know how to do. It is their job to find the loopholes and exploit them. They snuck into the country to have a baby and now they are our problem? I am a caring person and welcome hard working people as my neighbor,but I would be the first to say ship these useless wastes of space back home.  

Last year I had quadrupal hernia surgery. During recovery, something went wrong and I was in a crapload of pain. I went to the hospital that did the surgery. I had excellent health insurance. I had to wait in incredible pain for over an hour because some illegal immigrant drug addict had smoked too much crack and his lungs were hurting. He had no insurance, no address, and the nurses doubted he even gave a real name. I got to sit in pain and watch him get treatment before me. I have never been so angry.

 

Ive been wondering if that was just another smoke screen. I wonder sometimes if they are dangling the Tarp fund in front of the public to boost consumer confidence yet don't intend to spend it?

Oh they will spend it!  Give a politician and buck and it is gone!  They have diverted part of it to things like GM and Crysler.  Rememebr tthe government saying bankruptcy was not an option for that industry? and we forked over the money and then sudenly bankruptcy was just fine! And notice who got paid off.  The first in line bond holders who manage pension funds etc?  Nope, the union got yhe best of the deal.  The agenda.  Always remember the agenda!

I know many Canucks that work down here in Construction and when they need medical treatment they drive all the way back home so it can't be all bad.

Health care...housing...greedy CEO's...even greedier politicos...take your pick. The poor are still poor, I should know...I'm one of 'em. I had a normal job once until the company was bought out and the new owners slashed everyone's hours by more than half. Can't pay the bills when all you get for an hour's worth of breaking your back is minimum wage at twenty or less hours a week. Can't be done. Find a better job? Good luck with that. At my age who wants to hire when they can get younger ones to work. Give them part time so the company doesn't have to worry about benefits and such. Meanwhile the ones with all the experience gets the boot. They won't hire them because then they'd have to pay 'em what they're worth and I don't see that happening. I'm a self taught electronics troubleshooter and taught myself how to build and maintain computers. Do you think they'd hire me? Nope. They want to see the certs. A piece of paper means more than experience.

It's like everything else..it isn't what you know it's who you know and what palm to grease when and where and lets not forget who's ass to kiss! I've seen college kids with degrees no less that I can run rings around. But...this is America...that used to mean something back in the day. I wonder what would happen if our forefathers came into our time and saw all of this. How much you wanna bet they'd start another revolution in a hurry. Revolution is change and change is drastically needed at this point in time. Change is coming...make no mistake.

Maybe their plan won't pay [or low partial pay] for care here. I know that a while back, MRI's in Chi and other border cities had huge numbers oc Canadian patients utilizing them. NHS's ration care and that's the fact. BC (Brit. Columbia) went broke a few years back and no one could get care.

It is also a matter of scale as Norway has a population of around 5 million which compares to a small state ot larger city in the USA. And like you say, has all that oil.  In the US you are talking about 300 million peeps.  It is problematic that you could convert a small city health system with unlimited resources into 300million scale and limited resources.  Of course, there is the point of where those resources are allocated and they cpuld be diverted from security to health care.  However, in my view, you are still left with a massive government structure that would have no cost control or efficiency by the very nature of the beast.  I fear that the care that would be recieved would not be very good but rather the resulting product of mass production analysis.

We need a change in the healthcare system. At least he is trying. I can't judge anything til I hear the final plan and I don't think anyone has any point at this time. He does have a good group of people working on it. We'll just have to see where it ends up.

Executive pay monitoring for the companies we baled out I am in total agreement with and to be honest I don't trust anyone arguing the point. We are talking a minute percentage of people effected. It's not like he is trying to limit all executives. Just the ones that are running nationalized companies, again which is a puny amount of out GDP.

Gitmo is just another prison and our prison system needs to be changed. Hard time I say, not cushy 24/7 cable time with playstation. Rehabilitation is a joke considering the percentage of people that go clean when they get out of prison. Prisons have become an industry of profit. It will go nowhere but worse this way.

The auto companies came begging for money and were basically denied. We will get that money back at some point. We as citizens just can't let them get out of paying us back. Obama should have called in all those loans immediately but the money dissapeared overnight without any trace of whre it went. . We as citizens should have burned their houses to the ground.

Demonizing of celebrities is part of the game. Rights and lefts do it. It is the price they pay for fame and opening their traps to the public.

Tax cheats in the treasury pisses me off. As someone that has been on a payment plan with the IRS for 4 years now with alot more to go, it just sucks. It really makes me ill.

The laft does attack at will but so does the right. It is nothing new and will never change. It's human nature. They see it all as a competition while our country goes to shit. They are all just distractions from what is really going on. It's Rupert Murdock and all the other rich media mogels that are the problem. They only care about profit. We are all worried about what is going to happen the next few years. Throwing stones and calling names isn't helping.
