Nor am I my friend.  I am just frustrated at having only the real choice of voting for a Republican SPENDER or a Democrat SPENDER.   I am so ready to be picked off by a viable third party that I can't believe it although it seems the odds of that are nil.

No...actually, I've just been beat down so far in the past 6 months that I don't hold any opinions anymore. I don't blame anyone, I don't think anyone can fix it, I just want to survive, and that's consuming all of my energy.

We need to pay for our mistakes, not our children.

Good. I didn't want to have to pay for my children anyway! Them buggers are expensive!

As kenwas points out, it is a very small world we live in these days, as you don't ever gain anything trying to turn back the clock and go back to what some might consider better times.

In my opinion only, the hard fact is having a Government that wants to tax and spend it's way out of problems and create more Government over sights for everything just isn't going to get it done.

We are not going to do away with taxes but we can and should reduce the size of the Government and make it moe efficient.  A Flat Income Tax comes to mind, do away with the IRS.  We have to stop bailing out businesses for making bad or dumb decisions.  That was never taught in any business classes I took.   Fact of life, jobs are lost everyday, and everyday new jobs become available.  It's been that way for a very long time.

Lots of things can be sugguested and most of them will be good but none of them will ever see the light of day unfortunately.

Here is one very important fact that hardly ever is pointed out, 'We, The People' far out number the politicians.  Think about that for awhile and see how it makes you feel.  I just bet you get a little unset if not angry.

Most families of four can live great without feeling the recession with simply the tax I pay on my paycheck alone, yet I'm not complaining. This place is loaded with (In My Book) rednecks, racists who would complain about anything. One may try to feed them with a spoon; sadly they would rather focus on biting the fingers holding the spoon. Holocaust did not have to happen, still, empty-minded and brainless beings are denying it ever took place. It's easier to break things while it's time consuming to fix things back in working order. You can’t reason with Scarecrows.

"Of the People...By the People and...For the People?" Isn't that the way it was supposed to be? People like you, me and the average Joe Shmoe don't mean diddly to the high muck-a-mucks in Washington. Haven't for more than fifty years. Think about this...back in the Reagan era a law that should never have been touched was systematically torn down, up and decimated by the time GWB got into office. It was originally designed to prevent the very thing that happened on Wall Street. I wish I could remember the name of it but my memory is not as good as it used to be. Anyway...it was supposed to keep the banks on a tight leash and provide dtopgaps to keep them from spending like they did and chasing after so much bad credit. Merril Lynch and Leahman Bros., two of the biggest brokerage houses in the continental U.S. fall due to really idiotic decision making. The likes of which people like us would run like hell away from. That failure took down a GLOBAL economy, two governments fell and several others are teetering on the brink. The along comes Bernie Madoff to the tune of $50 Billion dollars...50 billion...a five with ten zeros in front of it! He isn't the only one either. Since then nearly a half dozen more have been nailed defrauding, not the government or big bussiness but people like us who bought into their lies. Instead of another Boston Tea Party I suggest, and this is a bit ironic too because no one has the balls to do it, stage a coast to coast taxpayer revolt. Can they lock all of us up? I don't think so. You want to make them up on the hill sit up and take notice......do to them what they are so good at doing to us...hit them where it'll hurt the most......right in the pocketbook! Because if they can't get the money from us...hehe...they'll tuck heads between their legs and kiss their collective asses goodbye!!   My two cents.

This would be an excellent idea, but we don't live in that kind of society anymore...haven't since the American revolution.  "We the people," the majority of the people, are too split on unimportant issues that will never actually touch our lives, like gay marriage and abortion, to unite with those we erroneously see as our enemies to tackle our REAL enemies, which is exactly as our real enemies want it, which is why they are the power brokers in control and we're just the serfs working ourselves to an early grave.  Even the very title of this thread, shows we are in no position to unite and tackle the REAL problems we're all having to deal with -- if the power players can keep telling us the enemy is this particular political party or that domestic policy, we'll stay blind to the fact that the controlling elite toy with us by telling us who our enemy is so we don't ever figure it out for ourselves...and the minute we, in this country DO figure it out, they'll orchestrate a black ops terrorist act so we all scatter and hide, and stay disoriented, disorganized and controllable.

I guess vStyler was right....I DO want to voice my opinion. :S

You were on a roll but you lost me at the black ops. All in all I would give your opinion a B+. ;)

Mow down all the homes that have been foreclosed on. Let the banks take the losses that they deserve.

This will freeze property values.

Rebuild.

I'd rather see some of the homeless folks get a home....I can't fathom why anyone would want to destroy a pefectly good house while folks are living in shelters and on the street.

Banks aren't about to turn those homes over to the needy so tearing them down and rebuilding would at least provide jobs and stimulate the economy.

Banks aren't maintaining the foreclosed homes and aren't paying taxes on them as well.

If you want to revolt, there you go. You will have to figure the rest out yourself because I don't want to set off the NSA keyword searching bots. :X ;)

Here is another important key fact, we didn't get to where we are today overnight, to correct our collective problems will also not happen overnight.  In a way that's okay, gives us a little time to make sure we are making the right corrections or 'changes' to get back to the basics.  Lets see, the basics, a fair wage for a days work and all those other 'freedoms'.

Hmm, wonder if I'm living in a 'dream world' like some of you folks.  :-"

If a person doesn't have enough income to house themselves, giving them a home just means that home will deteriorate because they don't have any money to maintain the upkeep on that home.  Living in a severely depressed area, I can tell you it's pretty sad what's happening...people are totally gutting their houses that are in foreclosure, pawning the appliances and anything that they can get cash for since they're on their way out anyway.

Here's a story from my local newspaper that tells how things are going here, in that regard: http://www.beacononlinenews.com/news/daily/1834

This is the trap they want you in. Stop fearing, be calm cool and collect, and we can get out of this. Otherwise we can do it over and over and over.

but wait, Letterman told a bad joke. STOP THE PRESSES!

Unfortunately, we are daily flooded with the next "must do emergency" with the main goal so that no one has time to count for accountability.

The emergency stimulus had to be rushed through so that "unemployment would not go over 8%"  Hmmmm, how did that work out?

We had to sign the Bank and TARP bills so that the banks could get the "toxic" assets off the books.  In case you haven't noticed, they still have them and the program has been a bust.

The Home Mortgage act would freexe and start to reverse foreclosure through refinanacing etc.  Today, 12715 homes have been refinanced through this program and the May foreclose rate was at all al time high.    Hmmmmm, not working to well.

But skip all that, we have to get the health care through in a real rush to save trillions!  Hurry, hurry hurry, act now, don't delay!

Ken, Don't forget that we have to rebuild our power grid to save all the money being wasted.

If we get an efficient system, they won't be making the same profit they used to becuase they will lose all that profit related to volume. They will raise the rates so they can get that new luxery liner to replace their 2 year old luxery liner.
