i wouldnt be suprised if gamestop screwed it up, they tend to screw up alot of things these days, from releases, to pre-orders, and any bonus's for pre-ordering... 

and the point of pre-ordering is to get on the DAY IT COMES OUT.

I have it. Picked it up from Gamestop in NY today. It doesn't work. Every time I try to run the game it immediately crashes.

I am running Vista Home Premium. My graphics card is an Nvidia GeForce 8800. Not sure if there are know issues since I am new to this community. Um... any suggestions? Anyone?

well i'd gladly preorder and give all profit to stardock, but i unfortunately have a gamestop giftcard that needs used.  that and there is a gamestop like 4 blocks away from my dorm room; which is must faster than d/ling (plus i always get nervous at the idea of a preorder and downloading a full game from the internet; i just like being able to look at and hold the thing in my hands, just my preference i guess)

im going home this weekend for easter anyways, so if i did pick it up it wouldn't be til monday.  i'll probably only be able to hold off playing til that night tho; lol i think the temptation would be to great for me to wait that extra day

I update the drivers for the 8800 card... and Stardock allowed me to register and update the game. Still won't run. I'm gonna browse through the tech support forum. Thanks for the suggestions, all.

I'm just joking, teamwork is lime. Please, I'm serious.. I'm tired of horrible teams and idotic people in every game I play. Me and a mate had to basically 2 vs 3 most of our DoW2 ranked matches because our "ally" played worse than that crappy A.I. Easy wins against bad players, but against equal or better it was like banging our head against a wall. Work with your team...yes?

If I had to guess, there's probably something running on start-up that's causing it. Try unloading programs in your system tray to see if something is doing it.  I've heard that some of the Logitech stuff is problematic with some games.

I actually work at a Gamestop where I live (Greenville, South Carolina) and I reserved a copy of the Collector's Edition through my store, and we got it today (Friday, April 10th) which I was surprised to see. I picked it up no problem. As for a "street date" of April 14th, I think that's just Stardock's intended release, because when I reserved it through our computers there was so street date for it, which when that happens we are told to just sell it when we get it, so it is true when people say retailers may have it and are selling it. But on a side note, I just made a post in the forums regarding a huge tech problems I'm having with it, if anyone could take the time to read and attempt to assist me, I would appreciate it tons.

Bingo! It was my Logitech Quickcam. I just swung it around by the cord and hurled it out the window. The game runs great!

Yeah please read my earlier post... I talked to the assistant manager at my local Gamestop... I see them 5 days a week( I work in the mall with them in Dallas). We discussed at lenght the fact that the "official date" was the 14th... He even checked both his computer and the system wide coporate emails that cover things like this... NO WHERE did he find it street dated so he sold me my Collectors Edition. Further evidence that Gamestop didnt believe there was a street date is the fact that I recieved a phone call informing me that my preorder would be ready on 4/10/09 for pickup... Those calls are automated from Gamestop headquarters... So its not the guys at the stores that messed up if anyone did..........

Sure hopw I dont get punished for getting and playing the game.... That would suck.

I'm a fan of gamestop.  Although I don't like some of the things they do, Malls would be pretty boring without them.

Not the best retailer in my personal opinion, but gamers in the US have little choice otherwise as far as physical game vendors go. Best Buy and Wal-Mart, so called competitors that keeps gamestop-eb games from being a monopoly are both jokes and usually never get games on release dates, if they get them all.

What we need is another "real" company that focuses on vending games that won't get bought out by Gamestop like Rhino Games did. =\

Well if its the case they really didnt recieve the street date then i just wonder why the site lists as shipping on 14th and does that mean if u pre-orderd for a delivery would u get it 14th or already?

I have to say this is not the first time I have seen Gamestop pull a sly manuver... The simple fact is that Gamestop as a company (an no offense to any of you guys who work for the place) is really an unoraganized ugly monster. Their customer support system is terrible, their structure is horrible, and overall I can't say I am happy giving my money to them. As is such the case, I will patiently await Stardocks release on Monday or Tuesday to get my collectors edition, however, my friend did purchase the game already as well, sooooo I will be sitting in front of his computer drooling because I play by the rules...

I do miss Rhino Games. Haven't been to any game stores except small local independents since their demise. Support local or support the company that brought you the product, but not greedy corps that think they make their own rules.

I must admit, Stardock is still handling this quite professionally. They are on the forums talking to the customers, STILL offering us tech support and answering users questions on how to cance pre-orders and everything. The say this great support is what happens when a company doesnt let its success go to its head though right? Please try not to change to much Stardock, you guys get a solid 15 minute clap from me. Thats right, I will sit here, at work, and clap for 15 minutes because your a champ of a company
