3.44mb and it downloaded fast and without issue.

I'm guessing they got the problems resolved.

ah, wonderful, thank you. I think that needs to be said again, for a free patch of this magnitude. it was about time.

now I only need another preview for entrenchment, some new info, any info to bridge the beta release and I am a very happy gamer.

I wonder how far ahead the other mini exp. are, but probably not far, considering entrenchment had to be postponed.

Impulse doesn't show me the update at all. It isn't under the Update tab, nor on the Sins area in My Games. Any idea what's going on?

Lifeat30fps, Try going into the game then hitting the Update Game button in-game. It will redirect you to Impulse.  Mine is taking forever to Verfiy Download...  It's been like that for about 20 minutes now...  Hope it works...

Does the Patch recognize the localisation?

Just updated the game, but ran into problems with "String not Found" messages everywhere. Renaming the Strings (english.str --> german.str) resolved it, but the game is now in english. And the old german.str doesn't function.

Or is Kalypso not ready with our localisation(s)?

Today's update is ENGLISH ONLY.  The French and German versions are still undergoing testing and will be made available at a later date.

Phalnax811,  that's for the advice.  It didn't work though.  :(  Maybe it will work later?

I'm still having problems. It says "Downloading Impulse Update - Verifying", and its been saying that for five minutes now. There's no download activity going on, and I'm on a fairly zippy computer (dual core Intel, Vista 64 bit, 4GB RAM). It appears to be idle as far as I can tell.

edit - Closed Impulse (since it wasn't hung), and restarted. Update started in a couple of seconds, and now Sins is downloading happily. So nevermind. :)

Mine still says "Verifying download".  I already had the game itself, so the patch is only 218 meg.  It started downloading over two hours ago, during which time I've been gone, and it still says "verifying download".

IIS? I feel your pain... We switched from IIS+ASP to Apache+ PHP. Now our biggest moneymaking software runs 2 times faster, 10 times smoother and with 100 times less errors. Not to mention we were able to cut the HW costs by 30%.

Mine was verifying download for a good two hours so I canceled and now I'm trying it again....

Lifeat30fps, owell, I'm not having much luck either....

Well, I work up this morning (now 8.20am here), turned on my comp and downloaded the patch and left it while getting ready for work. One message saying a timeout had occured (that I saw), but it picked up again fine.

Unfortunately I haven't run the game yet to see if it works (I am assuming so, but you know what they say...) - I have to work ALL day until I get home in about 9 and a bit hours :(

Hey one problem with Impulse I discovered.

I install all my games onto G:

but it wont let me just swap out the C for a G , when I get prompted for installation folder.

Its a real bitch having to use browse and then create folders

Alright, I cancelled the download, got out of impulse, got back in, and restarted the download, and it worked!  Haven't gotten in game yet, but at least its downloaded.

Stardock/Ironclad,

Mine has been Verifying Download for about two hours now.  Is that normal?  Should I give it another two hours?  It's quite frustrating.

Thanks,

Phalnax

Were you updating from 1.05 or one of the beta patches?

Gee Star/Clad, let me ask this question.

Are defenses worth building now, or are you going to make us pay $10 just so we don't have to have our fleets babysit our planets?  Because usually if a game dynamic is broken, its fixed in a patch, such as this.  Not a $10 "micro-expansion".

just downloaded and played it. they aren't kidding when they say "major graphical improvements" |-)
