RG clan and Rebel Genius are the same thing.

Alrighty, fixed :P The colors got so light on a white background I couldn't see. Anyways... lets keep this going people there has to be more opinions and clans that compete!

I know of a Twin Empires 2 map that has been made that seems to be floating around the competitive sins players, anyone want to vouch for that?

Here is my plan for a simple 1v1 ladder that has accountability. It's critical to link player names to their accounts. I am willing to run all the backend of this ladder. All you guys have to do is register and play.

How do I get started on the ladder?

Send me an email at [email protected]. This email must include,

- Your email address(IMPORTANT) only emails with replays sent from this address will count towards your ladder wins, to verify you are who you say you are.
- The EXACT name you will be competing under on ICO

I will keep a registry of ladder players, wins and losses, and an archive of replays, and I will update the ladder.

What are the match rules?

Matches will only be eligible under the following settings,

-All five settings set to fast.
-No pirates
-1v1(temporary)
-Normal fleet sizes

What maps will we play on?

Map must be agreed on by both players and chosen from the following list.

Random Small
Point Blank
Quick Strike
Close Encounters
Cynosian Rift
Gaian Crescent
Celanus Core
Derelict
Storm Front
Balance of Power
Centrifuge

Okay I sent my registration email, I know the rules, how do I set up a match?

With the ladder currently empty, two registered players simply need to play a match. The winner must email me the results with an attached replay. I will update the ladder. Also the winner must host the replay for download as this will be a spectator ladder.

When the ladder is filled any player can challenge a player above them.

What are the rules for challenging a player above me?

While everything is subject to change. Here are the current rules.

-You can challenge up to 3 spots above your current position.
-You must email the player your challenge from your registered email, please include, general times you are available on ICO, your registered Sins Ladder name you will be playing under, and other forms of contact AIM, MSN, YAHOO, etc.
-YOU MUST FORWARD THE EMAIL to [email protected] so I am aware of the timetable.
-The challengeee will have five days to meet and play a match. If they do not comply in five days the challengee forfeits.

What happens if I beat the player above me?

Congratulations then! You will take that players rank and they will move down one rank below including any players below them. You then get an optional "breather period" of five days before they can challenge you back for the spot. Once again this is optional.

How do I find players emails?

I will create another blog on this page listing the ladder players names and contacts for arrangement of matches. The blog will be viewable by friends only so please friend Sins Ladder so the emails will not be stolen.

Why do I have to host the replay for download?

This will be a spectator ladder. Players will email me the replay, and host the replay for download. I will be setting up an album on pictures here with screens from replays and the link so players can easily see who has played and watch the matches. This is a requirement.

A popular site so far has been rapidshare. But there are other sites. www.rapidshare.com

Disclaimers?

Everything is subject to change. Disputes will be emailed to me. All decisions are final. I reserve the right to completely reset the ladder based on competitive play changes.

Who are you?

I am Ataraxia. If you need to contact me,

Email: [email protected]
AIM- Alex1357
MSN: [email protected]
YAHOO: [email protected]

Also yes I am using myspace because it will be easy to post replay pictures in the albums and its easy to make a private list for the ladder.

Also I know nothing about programming so it is just a temporary site to read the rankings, rules, and get started on the ladder.

ALSO- I am ready to take feedback from player especially on the map choices. But the current rule of both players agreeing to the map would be good until we could iron out a set map list.

Really tomorrow I'd like to host a few "unofficial ladder" games so we can see firsthand what organized ladder play would be like. And what details we want to iron out. Would anyone like to play a "ladder game" for my sake tomorrow. Of course you will need to email according to the rules so I can start my database of player names linked to emails. That way some noob cant get on under your handle and lose a game and screw you on the ladder.

Also I am not affiliated with any clan, I will not join a clan, and i will not play on my own ladder so there is no bias in administering fair, competitive play.

Ataraxia_,

I actually like your 1v1 ladder concept, despite its using myspace.

Would you be able to set up a clan ladder this way?

I want to re-energize the community by building up an arms race among the clans.

Proph has taken the time and money to set up a real ladder with a hosted server and backend, he'll be working to configure it as well as likely add a forum for it.

1v1 and team ladders will be available. Details and URL will be sometime tonight once he has finished.

It sounds like Proph is making a more official ladder. I just have experience in competitive gaming scenes and I have played on teamwarfare ladders. So I am willing to be an referee so to speak for competition.

A clan ladder would be pretty simple aswell.

I also really am excited about a spectator community. It keeps strategy advancing fast and lets players build a name for themselves.

The system I listed above would work great for a clan ladder. For example 2v2 or 3v3. But any players from the clan can represent their clan on the ladder. Or allow multiple clan teams to compete on the same ladder. Either way really.
