Chatting in ALL has it's advantages and disadvantages. For the most part it's easy to get around. But in a game where someone is losing it is inevitable someone is going to talk trash, and beyond trash. Insults to someone's intelligence, skill, or handicap is uglier than sin (pardon the pun).

Having the ability to mute someone in the game would be nice. When someone is typing insults and worse; I had to leave a game it was so bad. Sure I was going to lose but I wanted to stay all the way.

Standard or not, we should strive towards some integrity and sportsmanship in the game. How honourable would a win be if your opponents always quit because the were offended by your language?  To each their own, but these are my thoughts :)

How hard would it be to add a /ignore [name of user] option? MMORPGs have it for a reason, why not SoaSE?

Guess that Ignore option is easy and should be considerable to ease the company life. Becouse if they create a comunity they are bound to make it work without chaos(if they want to make it correctly), is just like real world. So ban people who hack or talk-trash
would be the best way, but just use a Ignore could ease their life a lot.
But also it dont make wrong the fact that sameone really should try to prepare themselves for this kind of person, in life and even most abusible on internet, since these are all nothing but cowards who are capable to fell godly on the internet since they cant get hurt. They are just ridiculous

I normally just laugh at people that talk trash online. Mostly because a lot of people who do seem to think they are so great then I just maul them. I haven't played sins online yet but I plan to soon.

Another thing is that I play online games with my brother a lot and he's right in the next room so I can just talk to him and not bother anyone else in game. Its also perfect for setting up secret ambushes against other players. At times we'd go into games and act like we're total strangers, then as soon as someone tries to mess with one of us the other would just come in and blow the crap out of them.

Gotta love family. lol.

Well, my point is the guy was speaking as if he denies the Holocaust. Talk was on the I-favor-the-Nazis end of the spectrum of trash talk. This cannot be ignored in a game imo.

But yes, I will play with my friends from now on.

or find nice players to play with like me :CONGRAT:

I was very wary of playing PvP, RTS games on-line before reading your post.

What you wrote confirms what I suspected : some friends, or clansmen, plot and execute "secret ambushes" after "acting like total strangers" to "blow the crap out of" naive people who believed they had joined a fair FFA.

Not-lol.

Oh suck it up and deal with it you wuss.

Sticks and stones. Besides, what's the point of winning if you're not allowed to feel superior?
