Hi all

first post here, got wind of the game just a few days ago and have been very impressed with the info thats available so much so that ive pre-ordered the game, and downloaded the stardock file manager, ok straight forward enough, im a bit concerned about the actual release date,

at first reports from the forum and the web suggested a release date of this month for the beta, now i am seeing next month being mentioned

understanding that it is a game still in development with a full release date of winter 07, I would love to hear some info on how the beta is progressing, (perhaps a sins of a solar empire developer blog???) and how close we are to a public beta release, if theres any developers reading this let us know what you think, especally about the developer blog, it could be a great idea

Release date is August 2007 , it was pushed back. Better to wait for quality than to get a crappy game "on time".

The Beta should be out sometime in Feb 2007, we are ALL very excited, as this game seems to have a combo of Homeworld goodness and GalCiv empire building.

thanks i cant wait, i hope they do decide to do something like a blog on the development of the game it would be a nice "presonal touch" roll on Febuary!

They'll be a lot of information coming out over the next several months. Much of it will be posted on various gaming sites online, but we'll be sure to post on anything new. This site will also be getting more info as well down the line.

I don't see why not, if you understand English and pre-order the game, you can play the beta all you want once it comes out.

Yup, no reason why not.   They just have to pre-order direct from Stardock.

if i were to buy the pre order come june since i cannot afford it right now... would i still be able to beta... i am an avid fan for this game and i really wish to beta but i cannot afford gas for my car let alone a new 45$ game... so would it be possible for me to beta come the summer...

If you order it now you can participate in the first beta, and I think you can still get the beta if you order it a few weeks after it comes out, but at some time it will be closed and you will have to wait till next beta to play it.

well the problem is servius that i can not afford it right now... i physically do not have enough cash to pay 45$ for a game... thats why i posted i said that in my first post... since i will not be purchasing it now since i dont have the money!!!!! please read before posting.... thank you

There will be a chance for you to beta test, as there is more then one stage. First one will start in febuary.
Next stage will come later, but when is not known yet. But that one will have a multiplayer testing

I did read your post and I answered, sorry If I wasn't clear. The way I see it, if you order the game before it goes out to the stores you should be able to participate in one of the betas at least. But, a dev could be the only one to answer this question correctly so just wait.

As others have said, if you miss beta 1 and pre-order later, you'll have to wait until beta 2 before you'll be able to try out the game. If you miss beta 2, you'll have to wait until the final version is released. Beta 2 is set for this spring.
