I signed up for both Office 2007 and Vista and got them both installed. Its really amazing how they have both come on really - gone a long way and I like them

hmm yes Jafo has a point ! - Windows 3.1 1.1 etc could be classed as having a 'GUI' sic graphical user interface - think what the thread should have read is that Windows 95 wasn't an OS that was ran under DOS as the earlier versions were. eg, a DOS program running a shell ? Windows 95 etc that came later ran not in a DOS shell but in their own enviroment keeping DOS the
I agree Windows 95 was good in its day but think its well past its sell by date I wouldn't ever go back to using it or Win98. In terms of security using the OS is like having sex with out protection - seriously though Windows XP as security flawed as it is - is still better than its earlier versions JMO ! Can't understand why some one wouldnt go out and by
Not worried if there official or not - they look like nice icons - much better than winxp's anyway
Just signed up got the beta I'd like to see what the program can do in vista as well as help with the bug reports etc.
no hacking and piracy these days seem to go hand in hand - but its not the same thing, just often used to circumvent software for full use. Hacking in general can really be anything to hacking your registry settings to tweak the settings or changing the system settings to further the use of your system. Hacking is also unauthorised access and use of some thing. So not sure the word hacking is really correct when referring to certain things. But the wor
Well I think it does 'feel' like MacOS Tiger - a little anyway. But I dont think this should be regarded as a dissapointment in development but its a development of an Operating System that combines all the features people have been asking for for years. If it does feel at all like Tiger what with the icons and indexing search features and all its really because we requested this from microsoft some time back this is really just the realisation of thos
From what I have read the minimum requirements are 1.5GIG CPU 512MB RAM 6 GIG or higher Hard Drive Also I would guess at a Direct X 9 Compliant Video card eg, Nvidia Geforce FX or higher I think this problably requires a pretty good GFX card to support all the animations and GUI effects of the browser I guess.
Hmm sadly the Windows Genuine Authentication program has already been cracked and Microsoft even know about it theres little buggers out there by passing the check and are still seemingly able to access downloads they should have access to. It just makes the process more ridiculas for the genuine users of the OS <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Mad.gif" b
I was wondering where they were going with Windows Vista 'Longhorn' from the latest screenshots its coming on I like the design and feel of the OS of course things are subjects to further tweaks and design alterations - but I like it ! 12 months to wait !
Think the name is terrible - in fact horrible to the extreme
Really dont like the name - maybe they should call it Windows XP Second edition after all they have cut all the new features from the OS such as the side bar and WinFS etc, all this will be is a new Windows shell and security patches integrated into the OS. Oh and of course better indexing features. At least that didn't get ditched (YET)! Feels to me more like a souped up version of XP more and more thats been seen. <img src="http://images.stardock.co
I agree and dissagree with the comments of this article 1) I thought Longhorn was now supporting a new indexing system where you just find your files very quickly and easily. Saw this demonstrated in the new 5048 build. 2) some bundled software is necessary for people who just want a quick and small program thats easy to use to do some thing with out being baffled on how to use it. Windows Movie maker is a great little windows add
I have been using this since it was first made available for download. I like it - and use it in place of other spyware removal programs. Simply because of the fact Microsoft's ex-GIANT Antispyware program manages running processes better and helps better identify spyware on the PC. Gets a 10/10 from me !
title appears a little misleading me thinks
could be that Longhorn is just full of broken dreams and hopes. They have pulled a few things out of the release so until we see them in later builds who knows where they are going with this ? I pretty much like the new indexing features but aside from that all I have seen is a few tweaks to the explorer shell. I'll have to wait for the release candidate copy's to be shown off before I'll decide on an upgrade - but I have Windows XP MediaCenter 2005 so
much, much, much, better ! One thing though - I can't edit my account details - doesnt remember my login information and keeps asking my to login
Hmm I think this 'Slate' theme is way better than what the 'Plex' Style was. Plex really just wasn't nice to look at for more than 10 minutes on my PC. I could actually work with the Slate theme - its not to harch on my eyes
Not being able to save songs on the Computer is some thing we all probably have taken for granted and feel we have a right to do when we back up our CD Collection. Hey I am referring to Legally obtained CD's here, not what some one infringed on a copyright issue over some thing like Napster. The argument is that the new format of the CD's which are protected in this way will (and) have been alleged to play (or not play very well on certain types of Music Systems. People also believe tha
I am with you on that Firestorm and youre right, some one will it is enevitable
Wow Yay ! I would have hoped that this news would have been more positive in the outcome, but after reading some post's here I can see that it doesn't inspire. Then again I am not suprised. Still I am hoping for the day when all our work can be protected properly... CD's.. Yea that sucks too as far as I am concerned. Sorry but I am in the belief that I buy a Cd and I would like to
Wow yuk that sucks

A new global agreement about copyright on the Internet is about to come into effect after the necessary 30 nations agreed to ratify it. Over 140 nations were involved in drafting the agreement. The treaty will let "composers, artists, writers and others to use the Internet with confidence to create, distribute and control the use of their works within the digital environment." Those countries that have ratified the agreement will now have to offer artists certain minimum rig
