I really hate to say this, but because I'm working in a fairly high-stress production environment, I had to switch back to using Input Director and Acoustic Bridge instead of Multiplicity 2. The interruptions to my workflow are just too frequent for me to use it on a regular basis when I'm trying to work. If you are able to resolve the issues with keyboard redirection in a later version, please inform me and I will start using Multiplicity again.

Update: I gave a shot to using the Microsoft Garage "Mouse Without Borders" app. It apparently uses the similar hooks as Multiplicity 2, as it has the same - literally identical - keyboard redirection problems. I don't get those issues with the original Multiplicity or with Input Director. I hope this information helps you figure out the source of the issue. Have any of you been able to duplicate it yet? I posted instructions on how to do so ea

It sounds like the app is installing a hook thats grabbing the input before Multiplicity gets it. I will look into if we can tweak that or not.[/quote] Neil, I'm sure you'll be

As a general rule, I turn off UAC and the Windows Firewall immediately upon getting a new computer. For products supposedly designed to be helpful, it's really amazing just how disruptive and problematic they can be. No updates, by the way, on my various items I recently reported. The only issue that I can consistently duplicate is the keyboard redirection problem that I mentioned at length yesterday.
I just spent about thirty minutes with this keyboard input problem happening to me, and it wouldn't stop. After I posted my last message, I closed my browser (Firefox 14.0.1) and lo and behold, the problem stopped happening immediately. So I opened the browser again - The problem did not return. I then went back to this specific web page, where I am typing this post, and the symptoms immediately started happening again. So, I am now able to consistently duplicate
I've got the keyboard problem happening right at this very moment. If I move the mouse to a secondary PC and click an input field and type, the letters appear only here, on the primary PC, and not on the secondary. Let me do a more thorough test and tell you what I find. Okay: It appears that modifier keys are still being sent to the secondary when this error is occurring. The Windows key makes the start menu pop up on the secondary, and the backspace key e
NOTE - Below is a copy of the email I sent to Stardock support yesterday. Today, I found this forum thanks to a user in your IRC channel, so I'm posting this support request here as well, because I doubt that the regular support staff is properly equipped to receive beta test feedback. I've updated the email slightly from the one I sent to support yesterday to reflect things I noticed since then. --------------------------------------------------
I'm experiencing the same problem. Maybe a quarter-second of mouse response lag. Goes away when I close Tiles, comes back when I open it. Only happens when the bar is actually shown - For example, if I go into options and change the size of the bar or move it to a different monitor, during the second or two that the bar disappears from the screen and moves/resizes itself, the mouse returns to normal. I went through all of the settings in Tiles and toggled each on
I realize I'm digging up a thread that hasn't been posted in for years. However - I'm curious to know if this issue was ever addressed. Anyone happen to know?
I gave up and installed Stardock Central on both machines and used it to install the latest Beta of Multiplicity... I was able to play CoH for about an hour before the same problem happened again, unfortunately. *sigh*
I'm slightly confused. Do I need to install Stardock Central on every computer that's going to use Multiplicity? One of those computers is specifically earmarked to not have any extraneous software on it. How can I install the beta onto it without having to install Stardock Central on it as well?
Neat, I've never used this before. It's like spyware that tries to sell you stuff, except it's (A) not spying, and (B) it's not selling crap. Thanks, I'll try out the latest beta and let you know what I find.
I'm not certain how to get Beta releases. I didn't receive any sort of email notification of such a release, nor does your website indicate what version of the software is available.
This issue has still never been addressed. It's awful. Come on, guys.
I am experiencing the exact same problem. I'd love to see a fix. I'm using the freeware version for the time being, and plan to purchase once I'm convinced that it's working. Edit: I figured out what was causing the issue. Go to the "Positioning" tab and adjust your "Delay for autohide and mouse activation" a little bit to the right. Once I did that, it resolved the issue. Try it out.
Am I just talking to myself, here? Maybe this isn't the right place to look for support... Maybe there's a phone number I should call or something.
Any ideas on something else to try?
I am afraid that fix didn't work. I was hopeful for a while, but I've got the same symptom again. Back to Synergy again.
So far, so good. Haven't played in a few days because of a project, but I've made it about 20 minutes so far. I'll keep going and see what happens.
You were right, the registry key did not exist. I created the entry "KeyReset" as a String type entry, with a value of "0". You didn't specify if it was supposed to be a String or not, but everyhing else in the \Seamless key is, so... Anyhow, I'll let you know what happens.
Oh - I assume you mean to change that registry key on the server machine and not the 'remote' machine, right?
I will try it out right now and let you know what happens.
Just FYI, I didn't buy MaxVista - I got Synergy working just fine. The only feature that I don't have is the ability to copy and paste physical files back and forth, but that was easily taken care of by a shared folder. I'll continue to use Synergy until Stardock fixes this problem.
