I also got a second copy of the LE. It also happened back when Sins of a Solar Empire was released. At that time I hadn't spoken out, I just assumed I got lucky, but now it's a pattern. Both time I had pre-ordered the digital copy, and upgraded it to a physical copy (don't remember if SOASE had a limited edition), since I wanted the bonus. My guess is the original purchase and the upgrade are treated as separate orders, the first for the online edition + LE, the second

I remember the Golden Age of PC Gaming (GAPG? GAPCG?) and its manuals. I remember the massive X-Com Apocalypse one, still see it from time to time, since it's laying around in my bedroom. But the manuals I miss most are Blizzard's, they were not as big, but the art in them was absolutely beautiful. I just bought Starcraft 2, and the absence of a unit list in the manual made me quite nostalgic for the olden days.

If you want to kill DGs with Oak, you really need Penitence. Minions, AoE spells and healing by killing creep is useful, but you really need direct damage against other DGs. Look at the spell: at maximum level it does 800 damage, takes 0.1 second to cast and its cooldown is 7 seconds: You can actually cast it twice while pursuing a DG, and it barely slows you down. The other useful spell is Shield. The best way to use it, IMHO, is to cast it right before an assassin ent

When I put fleets on Auto-Attack (shortcut k), they would seek out the straightest line to an enemy: they don't deviate for neutral fleets or freighters. What this does is that when they run into a neutral fleet, you get the pop-up asking you to reconsider declaring war on them. The problem is that, no matter the number of time you answer no to this pop-up, it WILL come back, until you answer YES, forcing you to declare war. A fleet on auto-attack should avoid contact with neutral flee

We're not going to have it on SDC. It was up there briefly but we're going to make it a stand alone download for tonight. Main reason - it's Friday night and if there's a network problem, there's no IT guys. Stand by, I'll be posting the stand alone update to 1.1 BETA shortly. https://forums.galciv2.com/?ForumID=162&AID=10

I don't know if someone's made a similar suggestion, but here's what I'd like to see for the economic sliders: 1) An independent research slider. Since social and military production are tied to factories, and research to labs, an independent slider would simplify control: you could simply set it from 0 bc to your maximum research capacity. 2) Independent, but sum <= 100%, sliders for production. The production sliders go from 0 to max production capacity. It sets the MAXI

Update to the story, they had 2 pre-orders and received 1 copy. The other guy got it first. I had not been told that yesterday. Finally, since they did not know when they would receive any other copy, they returned my deposit and I "walked into any Futureshop around here and picked up a copy". They had 4 (small store for a Futureshop) and they were 5$ less than at EB. I pity the other guy. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc

That's nice. When I came back from school, I phoned to check if they had received my copy (pre-ordered of course), only to find out that they forgot to put one copy aside for me. They're supposed to receive some tomorrow though. Had I not pre-ordered it, I could walk in any futureshop around here to pick up a copy. Last time I pre-ord
