Now that I've read the details of GOG Connect, I'm tempted to use it, but one thing makes me balk. Q&A #15 says, if you lose the game on Steam, GOG reserves the right to remove the game from GOG too. This is exactly one of the reasons why I don't want to use a system like Steam in the first place. Like most consumers, I hate the idea that something I purchase might be unilaterally taken away from me -- I purchased it @&!*&! it! (I recognize there *may* be v

I didn't read your post closely enough. I don't know what "GOG Connect" is. I assume this is some sort of installer / patch maintainer run by GOG, which I didn't use. I downloaded the "offline installers" from GOG and installed that way.

I had this exact same issue. I was able to migrate my save game from Steam -> GOG without a problem. I first made a backup of all the save files. I can't remember where they are stored but it wasn't hard to find. IIRC they might have been under Documents. It turns out I didn't need to make a backup, but I suggest you do anyway. Then uninstall via Steam. Then install and patch via GOG. Then launch the game and voila, your save files will still

Apologies, it's not quite as easy to reproduce this problem as I thought. I'll try to pin down very specific steps to repro. I've also discovered "win + G" might work to record a video on my screen, so I'll give that a try if/when I can find specific repro steps.

Is there some easy way to capture game video, either built-in to Windows or built-in to the game itself? I understand that might help convey the bug, but it's a big ask for a bug that should be pretty easy to repro by following the steps I've documented. I don't mind uploading my save file but I'm not sure how you could see the bug in the save file.

Two clarifications. Why is this so horrible? Because I keep a summary of "stuff I left behind" in the notes of every star I visit. But I wrote some of those notes days ago, there's no way I could remember them all to regenerate the notes. If I accidentally overwrite my notes for a star/pin, my only options are to reload the game or revisit the star and re-scan every planetary body and re-create the notes. Workaround: if I'm very careful and only ever look

Short version: try adding pins with custom notes to multiple stars on the star map, and clicking around to view different notes about different pins. The notes will be smashed and overwritten. Help! Details: Click tab to open the overlay and click on the Sector Map sub-tab. Zoom in to be near your current location. Click on a star and click the pin icon (target symbol with plus inside a circle). Select a color for the pin
