Ok. I downloaded 1.99 and updated. But then when I ran the program it just switched to a very crappy theme that had a fish floating around. Was this the "sample theme" that was supposed to show me the features of DX? Because I didn't see anything but a fish! Perhaps there is something I need to click on? Anyway, when I tried to load some themes I had downloaded, namely: https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=31&SkinID=2559 and https://www.wincustomize.com/skins

Could you recommend me a DX theme perhaps that you've used in the past and found to be simple and easy to use so that I can get accustomed to the program? Btw, I am using the version I downloaded from Stardock Central when I bought the suite. Not sure which one that is since I'm not at my laptop right now, but I'm assuming that's the most recent version. Also, if I turn off the sys and turn it back on, it loads DX automatically when I start up and I am using the full version so do you think I st

Okay, that is very helpful. I'm really playing around with a lot of different programs right now. Object Desktop Suite has definitely been a worthwhile purchase, so I will try ObjectBar once I get home. Maybe you can help me with DesktopX tho. In this theme http://www.deviantart.com/view/2273121 I can't get the sys tray in the bottom right to show up. It's there, but the objects in it are just dark and basically invisible. Also, how do I add programs to the five little tabs in the top l

As far as object bar, that's cool. I'm totally new to this whole thing so anything you tell me I can almost guarantee I'm finding out for the first time. But... I'm looking at some ObjectBar skins and they all seem like the ones that come with WindowBlinds. Are there any that are more stark deviations from the norm?

By "minimalist" I mean very sleek-looking. Not cluttered, very different from the standard Windows XP. A lot of the good themes are really just very slight deviations from standard XP (new colors, new scroll bars, etc.). If you look at my second example there, that's almsot exactly what I'm talking about. Not that this is the purpose, but to give you an example at the difference, people will look at that theme and go "whoa, what the hell is that? What OS is that?" and it looks really great, very

I just found this one here: https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=31&SkinID=1576 And this one is from deviantart. I really like the design, but I can't get the system tray to show properly and I'm having a hard time working with DesktopX overall: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/2273121 These are both DesktopX themes and I think that program is generally more useful for minimalist-minded themes, but any suggestions within the Object Desktop suite

Very nice themes guys! Been having lots of fun playing with them, trying to pick a good one. I found this one, too and I like the style VERY much as it's almost exactly what I'm looking for: http://www.deviantart.com/view/2273121 Only problem is I can't get the tray on the bottom right to show up properly (?) and I'm having navigation problems, but these may all be due to my ineptitude with the program. Speaking of which... what is the difference between Windowblinds and Deskto

I'm looking for something sleek and very simple. Something that will minimize the clutter of XP (or at least look nice once I clear out that clutter myself)and leave me with a nice, fresh screen. However, I'm not particularly keen on the really shiny "futuristic"-looking themes. I like simplicity and subtlety. I'd also like load screens, wallpaper, log-in screens etc. that go with the theme if possible. If possible, I would also like to put stats right on the desktop like this: htt

Just a quick question- Can I buy and d/l Object Desktop or does it have to be mailed to me? I ask this because if I can download it at work (DSL) I could then bring it to my laptop at home and not have to worry about downloading it there (dial-up). Or is it mail-only?

I saw this special a few months ago and found it repulsively sensationalistic, particularly knowing a lot about the Zodiac case. My favorite part was that they had the print from the envelope and they couldn't come up with a match so they literally said, "so none of these people could have been the Zodiac," and the kid who thought his father may have been it was all relieved. Idiots! Just because you have a print doesn't mean it belonged to the Zodiac! Let's see, it could belong to any of the ma

Maybe you can help me. I'm such a newb at this stuff it's pathetic. I d/l'ed Blinds and a theme and then went into Display-Apperance and changed it to the theme, but the wallpaper didn't change, and I'm not sure if the icons did either. What exactly is a theme supposed to change? e.g. Start Bar Scroll bars Icons Wallpaper Program skins (i.e. WinAmp, Mozilla, etc.)? Can you load up a theme and still get individual skins for WinAmp and Mozilla for example? Or

Here is the full review: http://reviews.cnet.com/WindowBlinds_3_1A/4505-3514_7-8669002-2.html?tag=review Here is the excerpt in question: "Some systems may experience a performance hit while running WindowBlinds. Stardock claims that WindowsBlinds 3.1A uses less memory than Windows XP's own equivalent visual styles. It's true that most 3.1A skins are small; many of the XP-specific skins we downloaded were less than 200K. But even on our Pentium III-900 with 256MB
