Hi Guys, I have updated to this latest beta release, but the controllers seem to be broken. We wanted to play a local multiplayer game with two controllers. However, the second controller is mostly unresponsive. I have tried swapping the two controllers with the same results (so it's not a hardware issue.) We only use it for local multiplayer at the moment. Thanks.

I'm still rocking my LG G2, it's fantastic!
That makes no sense. Stardock owns no rights to the original games, so how can they want to transfer anything? If they did, in fact, own the rights then why-oh-why are they not using the original lore, which everyone wants? No, it appears they are being sneaky. If they really were so supportive to Paul and Fred, why kick up this current fuss? The trademark was never going to be shared. F&P's game is called Ghosts of the Precursors. No amount of signing papers is going to have an i
"If you read their latest posts they’re now making claims regarding Star Control I and III. " That is simply not true...they simply said " Hopefully Star Control I and III will also become available for free in the near future." Given that is them who kept SC alive by allowing the community to have the sour
Oh, so then it is Stardock trying to prevent them from making the sequel, indirectly, by trying to force royalties for the lore which Stardock does not actually own, which is exactly what Paul and Fred are saying...That is very disappointing, Stardock. Stardock only owns the name "Star Control"...Who is claiming that Fred and Paul owned the name? It's common knowledge that the name originally belonged to Accolade. As I have it, F&P are not going to name thei
This is unfortunate. I have been waiting for 25 years for a sequel to Star Control II, by Fred and Paul. Long before I knew anything about Stardock. Having said that, I am also very happy that Stardock is making Star Control:Origins. I am already playing the beta! I would suggest that both parties work in respectful collaboration in this matter. This way, us the fans, would certainly support both efforts and result in a win-win. But if you create a divide, that is wh
That's good news! A few other things which could be improved: When playing a 2-player vs game, the action continues in the background while one of the players is selecting a ship. It would be better to pause the action, or slow it down a lot, else the ship still on the battlefield drifts into the asteroids or into the planet etc. When a 2-player vs game concludes the screen reads "You Won" or "You Lost", but player 2 is a person too! Hi guys! Just played a few rounds! Without going into specifics right now, the gameplay has improved tremendously for me...keep up the good work! There's still the issue of the mouse pointer not being hidden when play start, so it just sits there. The menus are still not navigable using a controller.
I suggested elsewhere that there should perhaps be different battle areas....A lot of people do not like the artificial asteroid wall, this thread is the first where someone said they like it, but also this person has not actually played at time of their opinion.
I also experienced this reversal, but I'm not sure if I'm imagining this, but it wasn't reversed all of the time. (This was also fatal when playing the ship with self-destruct ;) I would suggest that you should have to press the button 2 or 3 times to self destruct, as the Shofixti ship used to be, with the state of the self-destruct switch being shown at all times.) -> I would also add that it's frustrating to have to use the mouse while in menus, a
Also when one ship explodes, the camera sometimes zooms to the "winning" ship immediately and does not show the explosion. The camera should finish showing the explosion before zooming to the winner and playing the winning jingle.
Hi Guys, I'm pretty excited for Origins! Have been waiting sooo long for a SC follow up! My comments so far on the fleet battles Beta: (1) It's great to be able to play using controllers! I love that, however, it's frustrating to have to go to the mouse when in the menus, selecting a fleet, etc. All the menus should work with the controllers. In fact, the whole game, including the main campaign, when released, should be 100% controller friendly. (2) The mouse p
*silly cow* don't want to *play* with *happy campers*.
This is such wonderful news! All the asking nicely, begging, pleading, petitions, threats, etc are finally paying off in a big way! First Star Control:Origin is on it's way, and now this announcement! It's time to *play* you *happy campers*!
Woohoo! Thanks for this news! Those who have played the original Star Control 2 have been waiting a loooong time for a worthy successor! Thanks for making this game, keep up the good work, and take your time to do it right! What's another year/two after 25 years!
WHAT?!?!? Star Control II is the best EVER! Though I can understand if you are looking to play melee with a controller. But I second cuorebrave's advice, get the Ur-quan Masters! It's really good, and you can even download full voice, if you want. But, Origins won't be Star Control if there isn't kick-ass melee! At minimum, I would expect local melee, as well as, hopefully online ranked play!
No, I agree, this is worrying! No news, nothing. Is StarDock expecting us to pay for news (become founders)? I mean, I don't expect founder level information, but something every few month or two would be reassuring. I am against pre-orders/early-access/"founder system"/"paying for the hope of a good game", so I won't be going that route.
