Just wondering, I am considering moving to Mac or Linux. Was anyone able to run this in a virtual Win host on a mac OS OR via WINE in Linux? My investment in games likes these is the only thing keeping me on Windows....
Thx Uzii (snif) Guess i'll keep playing MOO1 and SEIV / V until this thing stop crashin on my nVidia card.
To replicate the effect of moons? etc.. Also, can we control how far from each other gravity well can be at minimum?
Could it be done this way? 1 - Enlarge the gravity well significantly for each current "planet" 2 - Create a type of asteriod (like the one in the grav well that can be colonised) and change there look so they look like planets, all individually colonizable spread them around a gaz giant that you make look like a star 3 - Spread these new mini star system enought that even a very large grav well will not overlap each other 4 - transform current stars into "wormholes" that wo
All I am a avid fan (but the game crahs all the time - NVIDIA - hopefully fixed soon). I remember MOO1 and the fact that there was no starlane but limited ship range. How would we replicate (if even possible) in this via MOD? - Change number of planet per star to something that might be real (0 to 15 planets) - Have 2 types of drive engines (in solar system i.e.: Trusters / cross solar system: war
Ninja That exactly what i meant
Hi All I have started a few games now with most of the time the same or similar setting. Large Galaxie, 10 players (1 Human) and it seems that basically the map algorithm always ends up balancing the game to the extreme: 1 - There is always 5 star 2 - there is nromally about 10 planet per stars (sometime 9, sometime 11) 2 - There is always 2 players per stars 3 - There is always 5 planet at opposite site of the star i start with the exact same planet type spread on each
Hi All Just spent a few hrs playing with the update. here is a few comments on the new game window. Screen 2 of 3. If i change the "flag type" beside players name, it doesn't carry over to screen (with all the players and colors) or in the game. This used to work. Are Cap ship faster a bit? Ship having problem to find ways to the other side of the planet. I had a ship stuck in a asteroids around a central asteroid for 1 min while my cap ship and other
Hi All
Another interesting thought. If i was say ejected in space, i would aim for any of the closet ship and try to take them over or planet and start a insurgency....
Hi all I tried a game without flagship (by mistake actually) and marauders but once i had started it, i decided to continue anyway. As i was exploring my first solar system, i noticed something weird. 1 - There was still pirates protecting every single planet (ok i guess, i don't mind) 2 - The CPU in my solar system was unable to expand his empire beyond 2 or 3 planets and by the time he was ready, i had cornered him into a space less the 5 planets (for 2 CPU).<br/
I have tried but it seems to be limited to allowing me to go above / below a planet versus anywhere on the game area. Also, the ~ key is not mapped anything in the control panel. Can anyone enlight me on how it works exacly? Thx EDIT: Cancel that, i figured it out. It doesn't work with mouse click movement order just the keyboard (d by default i believe). EDIT 2: and doesn't work with structure placement... making kinda a useless
I'll try that. Thx
On thing i noticed that often (normally in the middle of a battle) pop up. As i was using the mouse to zoom in or out near the "message window", the message window started scrolling up or down. I am sure this is kind of by design but since the window doesn't have a "frame" or any way to really know where it is, it is hard to know where not to zoom in and out. Can be anoying in the middle of the battle. thx
i played a game a long time ago that (very old game, can't remember the name... on Atari computer... there was such a thing) had harmonised the 2 concept of phase and non phased lane in a very basic game. The game started with only phase lane (jump gate really) between star system and free travel within star system (but slow. You where playing with Icons basically). As the game progressed, you could uncover technology to make the lane basically portable (equip jump gate on your ships) a
Hi i currently have a game in progress with a large galaxie and it is down to me and 1 AI around a particular star system. I played normal AI, 10 of them. Pirates where a breeze at first and i found them usefull to ensure that AI profileration was controlled (prevent the "rush for planet" with colonisers without defense). Now howver, i got a bounty of 125K on my head and the pirate fleets seems to pop up everywhere and anywhere. There seems to have 2
I know i am dreaming here but this game might be a good portable game? any possibility of porting to PSP or other handheld platform.
