Same here, even though my laptop wouldn't be considered low end, it's still good to see you think about that stuff. That's why I really appreciate Stardock's work. They care for the customers; seriously...

Did you lose that game? Losing the game gives a big penalty to your total score. Yes I "Retired" to see my score, but I don't think it should give me a penalty. This is because in that same campaign the Altarians lost before I "retired" so then they should get the penalty too. It just doesn't make sense. Also I recently finished a ga

I've had the Korx saying their support me by giving me ships and instead gave me 2 resource starbases and an economic starbase. This can't be very good for the A.I agenda, they should only give ships. Wow, I had the exact same thing happen in my game, but instead of me, the Korx gave it to another A.I. There must be something wrong with the Kor

Farny, Sad to say, yes. Sorry about that, however after this build all this should not happen again. These changes should alos make it easyer for us to get the "ship design" library runing in the metavers. Funny thing, I still see all my ship designs! I just reloaded a previous save game and my designs are still there, and ALL my s

That's not the case for me. I usually go for missiles, they are the most powerful in my opinion. I kick AI butt when they come to me with a fleet of lets say 20 mass driver attack and 15 deflector, and I have a fleet of 24 missile attack and no defense. Of course I usually have more hp in these fights (usually about 1.5 times more), but I literally destroy dozens of their ships with my attack only ships. In my most recent game, I destroyed 75 of their attack ships and lost only 5. <img src="http

As you can guess from the title, I've encountered a mistake where my score wasn't added up right (the other computer players' was right). I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but I'm pretty sure it's a bug. Below is a link to the screenshot. http://img73.imageshack.us/my.php?image=clipboard015tg.jpg

I haven't tried planet stealing but I've had it happen to me when an AI was fighting the same empire as me. I got so pissed I demanded the planet in Diplomatic chat but when they refused I declared war on them took it and several others before they begged for peace. LOL <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/BigSmile.gif"

Hi all, I'm just wondering how useful the shields actually are. So far in my games, I rarely use them (only to fill up space), I usually prefer to pump up the attacks of my ships. I read a couple of posts on the dynamics of the fights (how weapons and armor works), and they seemed to suggest that it is good to focus on one weapon (i.e. beam) and try to have multiple types of armor. So what does everyone think? Do you think armors are essential, or should only be put to fill in re

As you can understand from the title, when you build any of the modules that help ships in range (for attack or defence), should one be able to see the effects on the ship? I think yes because when you hover the mouse over the statistics of the ship, it show starbase bonus. If this is true then there is a bug since even though i have the starbase modules, my ships don't get their stats adjusted. Below are 2 screenshots to show this: military starbase: http://img131.imageshack.

Taking the DL base shouldn't be hard once you get to bigger hulls. But that's not the point of this mission, since according to the story line, the civs are new and noone got to the higher techs. I'm assuming towards the end of the campaign, humans will build huge ships to beat the evil DLs.

It's too bad GAlCiv didn't follow the "blueprint" method of tech trading that Paradox implemented in Hearts Of Iron 2. You don't trade techs, but you can trade blueprints, which cuts research time in half. Of all the systems I've seen to handle tech trading (including the Research Point system of Victoria) I think that this is the best. It takes time to pl

Hi all, This will be my first post on the forum, and here is the bug i found. After a battle, whenever I send a ship to a planet for repairing, the ship gets "Too much" repaired I guess, because it had a HP of one more than its total available HP. Example: A ship that had 11/11, got down to 5/11 after the fight, and up to 12/11 after repaired (which shouldn't be possible). I can post a screenshot if it is needed. Thx. #2) I don't know if this is actually a
