The XML file that stores the faction information can be found in this location: My Documents\My Games\Elemental\Race The file is pretty easy to understand, the colors are defined in RGB values with the last being the transparency. There are some keys that are missing from the faction when you first create it but they are available at the top of the file in the ignore section. I agree the faction editor needs fixed and have h

I have found a few more items that I thought I would add: 1. Sometimes the city HUD will be incorrect for the city. I've had them off for most of my game and then turned them back on recently to find one of my cities was labeled with the same info and a neighboring enemy city. I found if you build something in the city it will correct. 2. In the dynasties screen, after I arranged a marriage for one of my sons the circular icon was the same as one of my heroes and not his new w
As I look through the forums I see a lot of complaining and not a lot of valuable help to the dev team. As a developer myself I know that good, detailed bug reports are what is going to help them to make this game what we want it to be. My list will stick to technical bugs I've found as I don't feel like I can comment yet on the game play balance with only 10-15 hours of game time into it. Bugs 1. If you have the unit build window up and not enough money or resources to buy a
I was only really doing it for the learning process, though it will be nice to have them when you are done. No particular priority though.
Thanks! Most of what I've learned on modeling has been from your site soase.weebly.com. Very valuable! I have downloaded some of the files from your page in .exp format, do those not have the mount points? I also noticed the list was not complete, is it a work in progress? Has anyone tried to create a converter from the ConvertXSI.cpp file? I imagine if it can convert one way then it would provide enough info about the XSI format to convert back. I'm a programmer and ha
So I've been reading up on all the good modeling materials found on these forums trying to convert the .mesh files back into a file XSI can use. I have tried the 3d Object Converter (.slp) -> Blender (.obj) -> XSI route which works great for the model, but doesn't save the UV. Is there any way to convert the model and the UV so the textures will look right? Sorry if this is a stupid question, this is the first modeling I've done and I'm learning here. :)
You can go into the Stardock Central software and Archive your updated copy of GalCiv2. Then you can transfer those files to your new system and restore the archive. I just did this with a laptop the other day so I didn't have to redownload everything and it worked great.
I was wondering if anyone had created spreadsheets from the DA data files. I am mostly interested in just a listing of items and their stats, such as planetary improvements. The wiki has the wrong data and Galactopedia isn't working correctly anymore. I can write a parser to get the data from the XML files, I just wondered if someone had already compiled the information. thanks.
I also want to request the clock. Very excellent feature and easy to add. It has nothing to do with arrogance, the game really is THAT good!
Good to hear things are still in the works. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
It doesn't look like there is much activity here or on the homepage for this Mod. I was thinking it would be cool to have some race specific tech trees for the different Star Trek races based on info from the series. I also think custom improvements would be cool. I highly doubt the Borg have Media Centers, etc. If there is other interest in this I may start a mod of my own, I can't seem to get in contact with the creators of the original star trek mod.
When I play I like to have the other civs far away from me when I start. Just a personal preference, but if it is shared by others then it might make a good option. I've seen it in some other games. A very big thank you to all involved in making this game. This is the best 4X game ever and easily my favorite game. Keep up the good work!
No one has these formats? Has the GalCiv1 community disappeared? Can anyone help?
I know this is the GalCiv2 forum, but I posted in the GalCiv1 mod forums a while back and I haven't gotten any response. I was hoping to get file format information for GalCiv1 so I can make some modding utilities and work on a mod Idea I have. Does anyone, like Frogboy for example , have the GalCiv1 file formats? Thanks.
1. I want click and drag rotation of the ship when in the ship design mode. I don't want to have to hit the little arrows to turn the ship. Left click and hold should slide the ship around, right click and hold should rotate. I've seen that in other games and it works great. 2. type of resource in the starting base name, Starbase Morale 29, Starbase Military 21 3. Info in the techs about the standard ship types. (frigate requires
I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this but I was wondering which way I should purchase to make the most money for Stardock? Thanks.
