52 here... grown up with boardgames (Avalon Hill etc), still playing them. Thanks to Stardock for this new TBS. Played GalCiv I&II for years and I think Elemental might share its longevity. You can build more experienced troops in the campaign. I was able to do that just before meeting the trolls. And as nayphen said, you can build them in stacks, that helps a lot. You can't research those things in the campaign, but these abilities are activated through some events, sometimes a bit too hidden in the event-text.

The translation is not too bad, but incomplete. Some parts are in German, some in English. But you don't have to install the english version to play it in english.
