Sound a bit like HOMM online. http://homm.91.com/index/

A) Multiplayer is already gonna be client-server which is a form of Thin Clienting. B) If the slowdowns are graphics related then this isn't gonna provide any improvement.
Luck (gold spots) and specialization (gildar bonus when city levels, % increase buildings). Goes for many of the resources (food, tech, knowledge and even materials).
If you saw the 1.0 version number before you pressed update: The game isn't supposed to be out yet. You should have know it might be a mistake and as a result it could go wrong. :) If you didn't see the version number before you pressed update: It's beta. Things often go wrong in betas. No use complaining. :P IMHO
From the perspective of the host everything seems fine. At least when I and my friend tested it. Also the issue doesn't occur on LAN. http://www.pandemonion.com/dump/scr06185.jpg
+1
They will for sure in BETA 3 .
But the game runs fine here @ 2560x1600 and everything high.
Try: Reducing resolution in options. (related to this one perhaps?: https://forums.elementalgame.com/364203 ) or Delete prefs.ini in My Documents\My Games\Elemental
It doesn't work like that Zamul. Those files in your game folder are compressed textures. The vidcard has to decompress them, render a bunch of them multiple times and in a 3D enviroment, apply all kind of shit (shaders, anti-aliasing, filtering, bloom, etc) and then send it off to your monitor. Those calculations requires memory. And ofc more memory with higher resolutions.
Jorn, supporting older machines is difficult enough. If they have to support even older drivers for older machines too then it becomes too difficult. So always use the newest drivers for your system. If there hasn't been a driver update for a piece of hardware in years then that is ok, but make sure you use that latest one and not a even older driver.
4GB of video mem here. So I agree the issue probably is that there is not enough mem to run the game at that resolution I am pretty sure though that when the graphics engine gets upgraded and optimized lack of video mem won't cause these kinda problems. But since that isn't gonna happen until a later beta phase I'd guess right now the only solution is to run at a lower res.
http://pastebin.com/ This is a good way to link to your dxdiag.txt and debug.err files instead of posting them inline.
Maybe add the debug.err? FYI: I run at 2560x1600 just fine.
Not a bug. It's a good suggestion though :)
Some minor ingame IRC improvements: Allow for PMs. Make links clickable (start default browser). Allow copying and pasting of text. Anything else?
Yes I know it has been mentioned a few times in different places. And there was a good topic about it on the beta forums. But I'd like to bring it forward again. I think we need surrender options. It's certainly not priority # 1 at this time but it's something I think many of us would like to bring to GPGs attention. For example a real surrender: After a minimum of 10 minutes of play a team should be able to surr
Some more info from the IRC convo: Tue[15:37:44] (...) i was going to update some drivers, and try the nosound Tue[15:37:45] which i did Tue[15:50:29] nvidia 9800GT Tue[15:42:53] (...) i did try right after a fresh format wiht nothing installed Tue[15:49:01] it's a new card, about 2 months old, so i installed tons of games to see how much better they looked and played<br
WarcrayOfTruth cos Sarcasm is OP!
And the Netcode is OP :P
Haha two great verses!
Mist is imba and Bite is OP. Erebus should be nerfed, that is my plea. And please Rook no... not another Tower. Before that onslaught us n00bs will only cower. With Regulus I also have a gripe. Across half the fucking map he can kill me with his snipe. About Unclean Beast only one thing I observe: The early spit is too strong and really needs a nerf. People ask: "What is OP?" Well here is my definition: "any skill that can kill me" and ALL
